  1. Yea, I'd run 70/30 or 50/50 Sometimes it's easier for someone else to hear the detonation, like a specatator during a drag race or someone watching while you accelerate hard. That seems like pretty high compression for 21cc domes. Are you confident with the guage? Stock pistons?
  2. When my house was broken into a few years ago, the investigating officer told me (off the record) that thieves will usually steal and drink booze even if it's an open bottle. He suggested having an visible bottle of whiskey that was about half wood alcohol for them to have some fun with. Cruel but fitting.
  3. Yea, you can get a kit that replaces the carb tops and has idle screws that you can install. You will have to drill and tap the sides of the carbs which sounds scary but it's really pretty easy.
  4. I would think you would need race gas now. Even more so with advanced timing.
  5. 19cc is what I would probably recommend since it looks like you are running a stock crank. You will be married to race gas with the 19's but you will like the way it runs.
  6. 8500', you could probably run 18cc or even 17cc domes with premium pump gas. What compression do you have with the 20's? Is your timing advanced?
  7. I don't know what the elevation is in Boonville but I would recommend 104+ unless you are over 2000' to be safe. Fuel is cheap compared to detonation.
  8. Was just the base of the head shaved or was it re-chambered? It should have improved the bottom end unless it was rechambered.
  9. I don't see a number for actual number of transactions. My 'number of positive feedbacks' is a lot more than my rating.
  10. The first things I notice are big bore, 17cc domes, and advanced timing. What elevation are you riding at, what fuel are you running? Have you checked the compression? Did it overheat bad because of the coolant leak? There are a lot of very sharp Banshee guys out here. I'm sure they will jump in on some of the other things.
  11. The oring seals are nice but when sealing against flexible plastic I would always use RTV. I put orings on all of my airbox flanges but recommend sealing them with RTV also to be safe.
  12. A set of FMF Fattys just showed up in the 'For Sale' Forums
  13. I'd get a clamp-on filter mod first, then pipes. You will need to jet up after those. After that it's limited only to how much money you want to spend, an aftermarket head to increase compression, probably 20cc or 21cc domes depending on your elevation, porting, reeds........
  14. I'm not sure I understand what the question is. What size domes? Is re-jetting required?
  15. We've been thinking about that, even if it's just a quick trip to our 'little' dunes at Little Sahara. During the week would be nice when there aren't thousands of other people there.
  16. I'm ashamed to say, but it had been over a year since I had even started my Banshee. Between work and other toys I just hadn't found the time. Well, I decided to get her out and see if she would even start without rebuilding the carbs. I shook up the gas, smelled it to see if it stunk. Thank God race gas doesn't sour like pump gas. Started on the third kick,,cool. I warmed her up good and went for a spin. Damn, it had faded in my mind how good they feel when the power comes on. My Banshee isn't even fast compared to most of the ones on BHQ, not very many mods. My wife was making fun of how big my smile was. Sorry for the boring post but no one except a Banshee rider can appreciate 'em.
  17. Clean both surfaces and put plenty of RTV Silicone sealer on before bolting the flange on. Wipe the access off. Seals good, resists vibration.
  18. Ken, You can email them to me also and I'll publish them so you can post them. -David
  19. I noticed in your other post that you had Trinity pipes and were going to get a Trinity head. They would probably be the best qualified to recommend which of their domes would work best.
  20. I'd probably go with 20cc. If your porting is going to be very radical, raising the exhaust port very much, you might want 19cc afterwards.
  21. I'd recommend 21cc domes and would run premium pump gas 91-93 octane.
  22. You can increase your compression with an aftermarket head and domes or by milling your stock head. On an aftermarket head, dome size is determined by what kind of fuel you want to run and your elevation. You don't say your timing is advanced or that your cylinders are ported which also come in to play when choosing domes. If you will post your riding elevation or location and whether you are wanting to run pump gas or race gas, I'll help with dome selection if you choose to get an aftermarket head. Others on here can answer questions about milling the stock head if you prefer that.
  23. Are there rings on the pistons??? Just kidding. That is really low. I'd be suspicious of the compression tester if it was done correctly. I'm surprised it will kick start with the compression that low. With a fresh top end when you get it back it will improve. Ask Gorr what to expect with 20cc domes and his porting.....something over 140.
