  1. For pump gas, 170 would be too high for me with +4 timing
  2. Sorry, this one slipped by me yesterday Brandon. I'll send it out tomorrow USPS Priority and stick a few bucks in with it for the difference in shipping and BHQ discount. -David
  3. The previous design cooled well but the later design has the coolant deflectors which ensure even flow through the cylinders. Also the previous style required changing the studs. I'll check for used 21's
  4. Give Nate at McCoy's Performance & Machine Shop a call. His web site is http://moretorque.com/splash.html He is a dealer/builder and can answer any questions. Nice guy, easy to talk to. I think most of the shops selling them are also porting them. A stock crank is probably not recommended. They are avaliable in different bores but are Nikasil plated.
  5. The stock head doesn't have removable domes. What size domes do you want? I'll see if I have any used domes for a little less. I don't have any used heads right now.
  6. Hey, I have a red anodized Noss head...
  7. Really, in most cases I think you would be fine. Unless there is enough resistance against the crank, like traction that a stock suspended Banshee doesn't usually have, that compression shouldn't hurt it.
  8. I run 19cc with 175 psi and a stock crank. I think in most cases it will be okay. There are always exceptions. If you have sticky slicks on hot pavement, pin the throttle then drop the clutch the crank might not be the same geometry afterwards.
  9. 20cc should be okay if you have 125psi with 21cc domes. 19cc would probably put you over the 'pump gas' limit.
  10. Call, PM, or email me if I can answer any questions. I do have red, black, blue and silver in stock. -David
  11. I'm wondering if the domes are really 19cc. Did you check the numbers on the domes to make sure they matched the packaging?
  12. One thing I have seen on a few of the strokers that causes a problem like this is too much squish clearance. There are so many variations in gasket and spacer thicknesses. Check your squish clearance. It may prevent you from chasing a lot of things.

If you are looking for a new one, the price with the BHQ discount is $234 + shipping for silver. PM if interested and I'll let you know how to get the discount on the web site or you can call tomorrow. -David
  14. Nate McCoy (more-torque on Ebay) seems like a pretty good and knowledgeable guy. I had some dealings with him.
  15. I'd worry a little about a stock crank with 18's. A lot of people get away with it. "Do you feel lucky?"
  16. In most, if not all, areas of Kentucky you would need race gas with 18's
  17. Like everyone else said, 18 to 20 ft/lbs. Orings are much more forgiving than head gaskets where torque is concerned. Don't worry about calling; I don't ever mind. From stock to 19cc,,,yes there will be quite a difference. Let us know after you ride it. -David
  18. Fortunately, I have a better safety record with the real thing. I built an RC and crashed it within a minute. Oh Well, I should have asked someone to teach me....You can't 'feel' what the RC plane is doing...No 'seat of the pants' flying. It would be cool to be good at it.
  19. That does seem pretty high for 19cc domes. Is the compression tester tip the same length as the spark plug where is screws in to the dome? Is there another guage you can use to see what it reads?
  20. I emailed him but he hasn't responded. Maybe he doesn't want it.
  21. I just answered your email. 21cc domes are what I'd recommend for sea level and premium pump gas.
  22. That's as Sand Springs Pogue airport. That's what they said it was last week. I haven't checked since then. 100LL is the aviation fuel sold at most airports. The 'LL' stands for Low Lead but it actually has a lot of lead in it. That lead, along with the 100 octane, greatly reduces the tendency to 'knock' or detonate. Detonation is more likely in an engine with increased compression and advanced timing. Also, since the 100LL is refined for use in airplanes, it is a lot more stable than 'pump' gas. If you've ever noticed the smell of pump gas or seen the results in a carb after it's just a month or two old.
  23. Actually, thank Lee. He is footing the bill for the head and domes. Being Lee, he did, of course, qualify for a really good BHQ discount .
  24. Under 150, fresh, good quality 92-93 octane pump gas should be fine.
  25. If it's over 150 with +4 timing I'd run 50/50 or 100LL Av, or 104 race. It's less expensive to be safe than it is to have to rebuild.
