  1. At your elevation, 19cc domes (probably 18cc) would be fine with premium pump gas. If you take a riding trip to lower elevations, you would need to increase the octane.
  2. You should be fine anywhere above 800'-1000' I would think 93 would be good at 8500'. Have you ever checked your compression at that elevation?
  3. With the mods listed in your sig you should be fine
  4. It depends on your compression. Did Jim recommend pump gas? Usually 101 to 116
  5. I've been on Direcway for several years now. It's the only high-speed available since I'm out in the sticks also. It's pretty reliable but goes away during some storms. It's better than 28.8 which is all I can get on the phone line.
  6. Yes, Nate McCoy is who I'm talking about.
  7. Yes, my heads force water down through the cylinders. I tested for even cooling using an infrared laser thermometer when designing it. Nate is a good guy. Very knowledgeable.
  8. Bansheeracer, Where did you get your Cubs?
  9. I don't usually give a sales pitch on my heads but some of the advantages are: Uses stock studs. Uses domes that are available from more than just the head manufacturer. Has improved flow and cooling characteristics over stock and many other aftermarket heads. Less expensive than many other heads although, from a quality standpoint, they really shouldn't be. Quick delivery. I am flattered that many top notch builders use my heads. Many Cub dealers and builders are selling them packaged with the Cubs. You DO have to consider that my opinion is biased. (but accurate)
  10. I just copy/pasted this: It should be pretty close for a Pro Design head. 1. Remove fuel tank and associated plastic. 2. Drain coolant. Remove plugs in sides of cylinders to be sure coolant is drained low enough so as not to run into cylinders when head is removed. 3. Remove hoses from stock head. 4. Remove nuts from head studs. 5. Remove stock head. 6. Place rags down in cylinders to prevent dirt and hardware from falling down into cylinder. 7. Remove stock head studs by jamming two nuts together and unscrewing bottom nut. 8. Clean top of cylinders using a razor blade, scotchbrite, or fine sandpaper. 9. Clean out tapped stud holes in cylinders if possible using compressed air. 10. Apply anti-sieze compound to new studs and install into cylinders by jamming two nuts together and screwing down on top nut. The studs don
  11. The dome orings need to be Viton which holds up to the heat. Most 'seal' shops will sell Viton orings. The size is 2-039
  12. I am really sorry for you and your family. They will burn for what they have done but that's no consolation.
  13. If your octane numbers correspond to those in the U.S. you should be able to run 20cc domes with no problem.
  14. You should be fine unless your timing is advanced quite a bit.
  15. At sea level, you need to run more octane than pump gas probably with domes smaller than 21cc. You will increase compression with smaller domes.
  16. Sometimes, it's easier for someone else to hear detonation. I've heard other people's Banshees detonating from a distance but they didn't notice it.
  17. All of my dealings with Denny and Walt have been great. I hope neither of them are gone from here. They are two of BHQ's best assets.
  18. If you don't find a used one, I have lots of new ones.
  19. You are kind of in a grey area at 500' with +4 timing. Check your compression. If over about 155, I'd bump the octane up some.
  20. Fill it all the way with the spark plug installed. I use rubbing alcohol because of the lower surface tension and a plexiglass plate clamped to the base.
