  1. With all that I'd prefer a welded crank. Or maybe 19cc domes until you have the crank done. Race gas with either.

    Cool Head

Rich, It shipped today. Hopefully it will get there Friday but it may be Monday. I'll PM the tracking number to you. Don't feel bad at all about the delay. I didn't think anything of it. Things come up sometimes that require the funds we would rather spend on fun stuff. -David
  3. Does the compression tester thread into the spark plug hole the same depth as a spark plug? Some of them have short threads which will give you a false (low)reading because they displace less volume in the dome.

    NOSS HEAD

I have new ones....in pretty good shape too. PM if you don't find a good used one. -David
  5. Noss is my last name. I would have tried to think of a better name for the company but when I began, I wasn't doing end-customer work. -David
  6. Was the porting done by a builder? If so, they would be the best to talk to about it.
  7. The head does increase horsepower and improve the powerband. How much depends on the dome size and your other mods. Unless you are having overheating problems, pipes and an improve air filter would be better first mods. -David
  8. I have new ones but figured you were looking for used. $58.50 + shipping after the BHQ discount. Let me know if you don't find a used pair. -David
  9. A silver head and domes is $234.00 + shipping with the BHQ discount. If you have the stock head milled, check your squish clearance afterwards to be sure it's not too tight.
  10. The domes and head shell are sold separately since there are lots of different combinations of the two that someone might want. Better cooling isn't the only advantage. You do get a horsepower and torque increase with the head and domes. The amount depends on the dome selection, your other mods, and and your elevation. If you are at sea level running 93 octane, you definitely don't want to install 17cc domes. 21cc domes would be recommended...at 1000' you could use 20cc domes. No head gasket is used with the head. Only the orings. With the head and domes, nothing else is needed. The orings, copper washers, and acorn nuts are included with the head shell. PM or call if I missed something or can help. -David
  11. New Noss Head, choice of new domes, includes orings, acorn nuts, washers, and shipping....$243.00 after BHQ discount. I didn't know if you were looking for new or used parts. -David
  12. Based on your compression with the stock head, 21cc domes would be a safe bet with premium pump gas. What is the elevation you will be riding at? I'm not sure about other manufacturers but my 'standard' domes will accomodate up to .080 over.
  13. These guys are right. Give me a call if you want. It will depend on your elevation and other mods. Usually 21cc if you are below 800' to 1000'.
  14. The RTV sealant should work. Call me if it doesn't or if I can help. -David
  15. I agree with what the other guys are saying. It sounds kind of risky. Have you checked your compression with the 19cc domes?
  16. Noss Domes will fit PD heads. Not sure what other heads they will work in.
  17. That's an early style head but it should work fine. If you ever order orings for it be sure and mention that it is for the early style head. The largest oring is slightly different than it is for the current head.
  18. ...And I'm reachable if you have questions
  19. It does come with instructions. The only 'special' tool needed is a torque wrench although people install the heads without them. Unless you wrench a lot and have a pretty good feel for what 20 ft/lbs is, I would recommend the torque wrench. If you have questions during installation, you can give me a call. -David
  20. Fred has a YFZ and a Banshee. The Banshee was being re-done for a lot of the season. Notice the nice NOSS stickers...

  22. You are probably fine with a stock crank but I would ask the folks at ADA to be sure. Race gas is probably going to be in order also. I'm sure they can help you with dome selection based on your other mods and your elevation.
  23. If you find a single dome, compare it carefully with the other one you are going to use. I only sell them as a set because they are matched. I don't even mix them from one batch run to the next because there can be slight differences because of tool and setup variations.
