  1. awesome, thanks. I wasn't expecting to need any bigger than a 300 main so I am ordering a jet kit now. I have to do it all quick before my sister-wife finds out how much i am spending
  2. I ordered the whole system with cages and everything.
  3. I need to clean the carbs and figured I might as well tackle a few items while i am doing so. I ended up buying the rebuilt kits for the carbs. Choke plunger, tors delete kit and, just because I hate waiting, I got some reed valves as well. They are v force 4s, if that means anything. I have plenty of carb jets, needles, etc. I also grabbed a pair of 280 mains and 300 mains, just in case. Anything I should watch out for while I am in there? Can the v force reeds be used as a replacement to stock or do I need a bunch of other mods to use those? I am not trying to gain more power or drag race or anything. Just want everything working properly for a mix of riding circumstances (trails, fields, messing around and whatever). The exhaust is a toomy T5 full exhaust, has the k&n single filter (pro design) kit and I will keep the lid on. I think that covers it. Oh, top end was done about 100 hours of run time ago but it sat in a pole barn for a long time and wasn't ridden a lot for a few years prior to the pole barn.
  4. Not thinking about anything too much. CV carbs need intake air velocity. So in a motorcycle that velocity being reduced by pod filters creates a huge fuck show. But my post had nothing to do with horse power. I don’t care about horsepower gains. I care about ease of access to the carburetors but if going to pods creates sloppy throttle then I don’t want that. Every banshee in the world might be running pods but I’ve read through that thread. Haha. None of them mention how the carburetors work... just that all of the cool drag guys use them. My question was whether or not a 2 stroke with CV carbs is affected less by unrestricted air to the slides or should I expect an intake nightmare. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Appreciate the advice but how do the carbs react to that at variating throttle?
  6. Makes me wonder about the plausibility of running out the sides a bit. I am probably going to keep the air box with the lid. This does make me want to get into a project, though. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have seen plenty of pods slapped directly on the intakes with no stacks or anything. I do want to do something about the airbox and going with stacked pods would make life awesome as far as carburetor access goes. I am new to the banshee and new to actually working on 2 strokes so please bear with me here. On a 4 stroke with CV carbs, pods are just a dumb idea. Is it different for a 2 stroke with CV carbs? Shit... are these even CV carbs? They look like CV carbs... The airbox on CV carbs on 4 strokes is necessary to retain the necessary air velocity needed to operate the slides properly. Wide open air screws that system all up so it is corrected with velocity stacks. I used them on my old R1 and they worked well. Are stacks needed for a 2 stroke or are the physics different? If so, can you explain? My carbs need a cleaning, at minimum but I am just going to rebuild. Choke doesn't stay out, one float sticks, old fuel all over the bottoms of the bowls... definitely taking them out. If going to pods is actually an option, I'm in! But I am not planning on riding down drag strips wide open... I will be riding with more variation so if pods are a bad idea for smooth variation then I am stuck with the box unless someone has tried stacks, successfully. Thanks.
  8. YES... ok so I need you to meet my wife. Lol. She won’t listen to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Here it is. Need to do some things and clean her up but it runs like a banshee Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What kind of beer are we taking about? not sure yet. As long as it isn't white claw or some shit. I don't want to buy him a case of tampons too.
  11. I will have it here tomorrow. I don't have a trailer yet so a friend of mine is grabbing it and dropping it off for me for a case of beer. haha. like the good ol' days. I will definitely post the pics then.
  12. Have wanted a banshee since I first saw one while out riding my YZ80 out in the desert in southern California. I was 12 years old then. I'm 41 now and just bought a very well cared for Banshee. I've never ridden 2 stroke 4 wheelers. Last thing I rode that was a 2 stroke was my 1970s 400cc CZ dirtbike that was way too big for me then. I will have questions. The desert, where I spent my childhood, is perfect for 2 stroke machines. I don't know what riding is like here in NH but i really have no interest in those side by side outfits or automatic 4wd quads. So I will probably be asking a lot of noob questions about riding techniques and such.
