jetting for tommey t5's and pods
jason.perez replied to jason.perez's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I poped in 27.5 a 290 main and put the needle in middle clip and there’s a huge hesitation before the power band and barely any low end the boots are brand new filters clean but I did forget to mention that the carbs had a like a vitos power jet that somone put on there, but I sealed them off -
jetting for tommey t5's and pods

Never had it running good I got it from somone running 2 34mm flatslides, then I out the one carbs in it there clean, brand new filters, and pistons are kicking out 110 I just don’t know why it wants less fuel , I started with 340 then went lower and lower and it got better but now I’m just skeptical -
300 ft sometimes go to 3000 ft toomey t5's no airbox just uni pods current jetting is; 25 pilot, 280 main, and the red vitos needle. air screw is 1.5 turns from seated I was told to run 290-300 main, well i tried those and the power band kinda laggs to kick in, but when it does im power wheeling. Im at 280 main and its the same . My problem is its not smooth its either not really any power or all band. I dont really want to go leaner then 280 if i dont have to, Ive tried all the needle positions. I do have a set of stock needles and was wondering if i should give those a try, they're a couple milimeters shortor and the taper isnt as smooth. Thanks for your help in advance.

I got: 97shee, t5’s, stock carbs no air box 300 feet above sea level 25 pilot and 290 main, needle middle clip So my low end kinda weak, top end is power wheeling Kinda laggs to hit power band i don’t know if I should go down to 280 does that sound like it would be to lean? Or should I lean out the needle ? I don’t really have the space to plug chop at the moment

Right side only runs with choke up
jason.perez replied to jason.perez's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I just changed my fuel lines and cleaned out the bowl, also adjusted the float height it was like at 22 I put it to 21 and now the shee runs good thanks tho. And yeah I been running it blocked off never had a crossover ever there useless -
I run uni pods on my carbs and I blocked off the port where the boost bottle goes. Well I went to turn on the bike today and the right side (non choke carb) only runs when the choke is all the way out

Jetting for pipes and pod filters
jason.perez replied to jason.perez's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I ended up with the 290 main. When I go up to 3000 ft should I bump up to 300 or 310. And do you think I’ll have to mess with the needles, I know u can’t really tell cuz ur not on it but just from experience -

Thank you do you think I could run the 30 pilots until I figure out the main ? Because I gatta order those. The 30 feels good tho the 1/4 response is clean maybe 27.5? You would know more -
97 shee Toomey t5’s uni pod’s no tors I’m at 300 ft also ride at 3000 Stock VM26’s carbs have 330’s in them right now, should be kind of rich right ? stock needles, but I also have Vito’s RED needles Idk if that will work better? Pilots 30. 1.5 turns out idles perfect the bike runs fine on low end but once I start getting higher in the Rpms it feels weird, the power band laggs to kick in, in second it takes even longer, then third can’t really hit it and so on. Any suggestions ? Also could it be float Height? And how much does an exhaust leak effect performance ? Sorry a lot of questions I also have mains from 290-350, if u guys suggest I change the pilots I have to order but my problem is at WOT (Don't want to go to 3000 ft until I can get it right then when I ride up there I can just switch out mains)

It’s definitely not a carb problem. Or air leak. And my it’s kicking out 110 so nothing in there

Brand new

got a new cdi coming in tmo, so just plug it right in a test it right ?
-
The bike just feels like it’s almost lean or somthing in first it barely hops into the power band but it all other gears it almost gets there but doesn’t it’s weird
-
Alright thank u. I completely removed the g/y wire it wasn’t grounded anyways didn’t make a difference
-
I’ll try to see if someone has a spare thank u I wouldn’t understand how it got messed up when it was fine before tho
-
It’s defiantly not a jetting problem and I got new boots so the only thing would be the wiring I have to take a better look tmo I’m not with the bike anymore thanks for ur help
-
No I didn’t but it also worked a little after that as well. I also had two different set of carbs since then but I kinda of rember plugging and unplugging somthing When I got the bike the guy had 34mm flat slides and it ran like shit I jetted it it had no low end but screamed in the top. I switch to 26mm carbs I think it had all top end no low end again tried to jet those but I had the same problem I’m having with these new oem vm26ss

Thank I’ll take a look right now
