OP After reading through the 22 pages of this thread of what seems to be very solid advice. As you had stated yourself you have limited mechanical ability which is not a problem, and your willingness to learn about you new bike is commendable(get a clymers manual asap), as it not a machine that can be ridden and put away wet. You had stated that you just want to get out and rip on it. That is a common denominator of most member here, we just want to get out and rip. That said you have two ears and one mouth for a reason. No one here would steer you wrong in helping you out. All the advise given thus far is sound and was given Solely to benefit you. 1. Sending your motor out to a builder who builds these motors all time will ensure everything is done right, through experience with this motor. 2. Sending your motor out will give you a correct baseline on how your motor should be working, thus allowing see, hear when something is not right. Then you can fix it. 3. Unfortunately you have chosen the wrong bike if you want have a fast reliable bike considering it unknown history. Banshees will empty you wallet fast. From my limited experience with them, I followed all the advice from members here and chose a builder to do my porting work. My builder also gave me advice on other parts that should be looked at since I was going for more reliably over a rocket ship. Also note that I'm in Canada, so very limited engine builders here. These guys on here have given sound advice. They are trying to save you lots of money and headache. Best advice is to listen. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

I have no experience with this company. That said I'm sure there are two sides to the story, but for the cost of hardware to the company is pale in comparison to future revenue losses of poor customer support. One would think they would have asked for the hardware back to do their independent audit just in case they have a bad batch and offer new hardware at a discount ECT Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

See that all the time when apprentices are in a rush to put down the carbon fiber floorboards, no lube plus rushing equals instant bind. Then removing them is a mother F×!_er. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

Where can i find OEM CDI box?
Canadianshee replied to EaCastillo00's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
To be sure you are getting the correct one for your bike take vin to your local stealer and bend over. If you go for used oem no guarantee it will work and your limited to aftermarket. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk -
I not sure but isn't the main purpose of anti seize with stainless is to prevent the two different type of metal in this case stainless going into aluminum/magnesium ECT, one becoming an anode and other cathode with creates oxidation within the bolt channel. ? Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

Lol ok. We use titanium in aircraft they need lube or you will experience kind of the same issue your having. Almost sounds like a pitch issue between the two parts. Do you have a tap and die set to confirm bolt and nut pitch. Might not be that just a thought Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

When I was talking to him last night he said he had the y-pipe custom made to run the dual pipes so he could run the banshee exhaust. Wants to sell as it way to fast for him. Going to be a hard sell for him. Better to part it out, I would think. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk -

We are lucky to have a good membership and seems to be growing along with surrounding clubs with the lack of snow as of recent. All of the surrounding townships now allow atv use on public roads to allow to connect to different trail heads. Considering I fall in that gap of older guys, the 2 stroke is my go, lol and other member who ride them are as old or older. Are you located with ontario sounds like some interesting riding. Yes QC is awesome have ridden there twice but on snowmobile, will be trying it on the quad next year. Have you heard if the Ganeraska forest. Its local to me 5000 hectares of trails, sand pits ECT. Pretty a sweet place and OPP petrol it on some big stuff so are pretty slow, but are cool as long as you have all your docs ECT and not driving like an idiot. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

Yes that was the kind of breakdown a races I was thinking maybe mud run to big in this area. As for insurance I totally agree and since it Canada would prob be my first 1.6 child born. I have sent out a few email to the surrounding clubs, and that their concern was insurance as well. But they are putting me contact with their insurance broker to see what it would take. Just in the pre-plan stage. Might also approach the local fair as they have demo derbies and car shows ECT. That said I'm still open to suggestions. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

I wouldn't expect that, as drags are not a big thing here yet. Club I belong to, I was the only 2 stroke sport quad rider (250r) for 7 years out of 230 members. Now though were are up to 28 2 stroke riders ranging from 250r, quadzilla, and banshees. Equipment seems pretty simple, man power and legal waiver are my main first concern. Yes I understand that. Township land here if unused is available for event use, just have to submit an application. Would be a day or weekend thing only so structures would not be required. Event Would be more aimed at a charity type or to go towards trail maintainance and and cash prizes for winners ECT. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

Just wanted to know what all goes into running a drag race event. What experience does anyone have in attending and or running an event like this. Are there usually entry fees paid by racers and spectators ECT. There are three local atv clubs that I was going to approach to see if any of there members would be interested. I know insurance waivers and event use waiver will be the first question the township will have. Its kind of frustrating to see tax dollars goes to waste, as every few years the township goes in and cuts back all the overgrowth and grates the runway surface. Then let it sit unused till the next time. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk

Here, here on blowing past your budget. But still happy so that's all that matters. I would try to do an inspection of entire motor first before purchasing anything. I wish I had done so. I ended up having to replace clutch which I really didn't think of at the start of the build. But there is tons of info on this forum. This was my first banshee and first rebuild after owning it for a few months. The ppl on here and reading through past post really help along with a Clymers manual. I have yet to fire mine up from frame up rebuild. There are no performance shop around me up here so all of my part I bought through site sponsors. I went for reliability over crazy performance as I ride a lone most time out in the sticks. Take a look at my rebuild thread for parts and upgrades. I'm close to 5k with the build buts that's Canadian, so pretty sure you can do a lot with 3k USD Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk
