  1. Well hopefully after this time it'll be right. I ain't fixing this thing again if it ain't done right this time.
  2. Bike just got dropped off. He said he would do a leak down test as long as I was willing to pay for it, & I said yes go ahead. He said the left tors box was definitely too loose when he looked at it,
  3. Plus my left carburetor tors box is really loose.
  4. The head mechanic said he thinks it might be a pilot jet issue or a fouled spark plug. I am wondering though if my carb slides are synced up, if my reeds have frayed, has my boost bottle cracked my carb intake Boots over time, and why the carb they replaced is on the same side that isn't blowing as much Exhaust out?
  5. If this is in the wrong forum topic page then remove it, but I had a question on an exhaust issue I'm having. Both my pipes are blowing that initial warm up smoke, that's the good news. The bad news is the left pipe is the only one I can see blowing visible smoke when I tap the throttle during warm up. I can't see the right one hardly blowing any smoke when I tap the throttle. Any advice?
  6. What would be causing one pipe to be blowing more smoke than the other? Left side is fine but the right is lacking smoke, plus that's the side with the carb they replaced.
  7. My buddy Tyler said he'd put 310s in mine. I'm at 600 feet above sea level.
  8. Okay I'll ask em about that tomorrow because I'm calling the dealer back asap and letting em know I'm not happy. What would my jetting need to be to run 40:1 with the Amsoil Dominator since you said that's what you run in yours too?

  10. The repairs I needed were because it wouldn't start after running fine for 30mins at my buddies house a couple weekends ago, and a new clutch cover gasket because the previous owners damaged the old one while trying to get it off so there was an oil leak, and I wanted new sparkplugs. Here's what they did... - new spark plugs - new clutch cover gasket and new transmission oil (Yamalube 10W30 which I wasn't happy about but whatever) - coolant flushed and new coolant put in - 2 new gasket, float chambers - 2 new needle valve assemblies - fresh gas 50:1 (Amsoil Dominator) - brand new right carburetor - new pilot jets 30, needle set at 4th notch - new main jets 290 That's it. The only other thing now is the problem stated in the original post and a small shift shaft seal leak.
  11. I got my Banshee back yesterday from having it repaired at the dealership and it ran like a champ. Today I was letting it warm up and tapped the throttle, and the left pipe was the only side I could see blowing that initial start-up smoke out. I rode it up and down my driveway to see if anything felt off, and after about 5 mins the powerband was no longer kicking in. It felt and sounded like it was seizing up when it should have BRAAAAAAAAAAPED. So needless to say I need some help because I'm a tad pissed I just paid to have it fixed and it still ain't acting right. Here's the jetting and current mods if that helps... K&N air filter with no air box lid FMF Gold Series Fatty pipes Pilots: 30 Air screw: 1.5 turns Needle jets: set at 4th notch Main jets: 290
  12. Thanks guys! Dang man that's a pretty extensive process for pipes, but not so different from me when I compound and polish a car so I understand where you're coming from. Those pipes definitely look good on the "in the process" pics.
  13. Anybody know the best way to polish their Banshee's exhaust? I got FMF Gold Series with a Powercore silencer. So far I've heard Mother's polish and that ball you stick on your drill works good but what have y'all done to help make your pipes shine like new or the best they can?
  14. Thanks again! Definitely use this information.
  15. Thanks for the reply. You've been a big help. So as it gets warmer go down on my jets? Is that what you're saying and are the mains the only ones I adjust?
  16. The only mods on my Banshee is FMF pipes and a K&N filter with no air box lid. If I'm running 27.5 pilot jets and the needle jet on 4, what size main jets would you guys recommend? Is 280-290 okay or should I go to a 310 or 330? I'm around 600ft above sea level with the temperatures anywhere from 20-60 right now in the year. Spring and summer will get anywhere from 60-100. Thanks and if you need more info provided about the bike in order to answer the question I'll do what I can!
  17. The previous owner of my 2002 Yamaha Banshee said there was a 10mil crank in it. However, after talking to someone I know who grew up working on banshees, he saying that a lot of things on my bike are pointing to the fact that it does not have a 10mil crank. He said there would be porting, aftermarket carbs, a pingel fuel valve, reeds, etc. Also, mine has FMF pipes which he said most people that build a stock cylinder 10mil crank aren't usually going to run FMFs because it would be a pretty extensive build and it'd be easier just to buy a full aftermarket setup. My question is, since I am a noob when it comes to workin on banshees as this is my first one I've had, how can I take it apart to check and see if there is or is not a 10mil crank in it? Obviously checking the crankshaft, I know that much, but I don't know what to look for that will tell me if it is a 10mil crank. Thanks in advance because this is really puzzling me.
