  1. Quick pic updates. Super anxious about all the rest of my new junk arriving over the next 5 days. A arms will be here in a few days, they were almost delayed longer for not having the right color anodized brake line clamps I ordered. Here's some stuff that showed up, I will hold off on more post whoring until we put the bike back together next weekend
  2. looking real good so far, you dont waste any time!
  3. heres another good question; do you guys stay away from non genuine jets? Half the price of the genuine mikuni jets. Coming from the Honda 250r community those guys avoid the non genuine Keihin jets because they claim theres quality issues that make tuning a pain in the ass. I always bought the genuine Keihin jets and paid the extra couple bucks because of that, any reason you guys do or dont buy genuine Mikuni?
  4. Carb sync tool showed up Saturday. Hoping the new rad and inline temp gauge show up by Wednesday. Expecting to reassemble motor next weekend and get everything ready for the bike to be back on its wheels whenever my new long travel a arms show up.
  5. Pm'd you Bennett Checking out JD now Trying to run stock carbs on this unported motor, don't want to over carb an already underpowered motor
  6. I have a huge assortment of keihin jets but being new to Yamaha I have to start over and build a mikuni jet collection now. Do you guys buy your jets anywhere special? I normally get mine at jetsRus.com where the genuine mikunis are $6.39 each for mains and $7.09 for pilots. Running stock carbs and looking to grab a bunch for everything up to 330 on mains and 32.5 on pilots. Is there a cheaper place to get the genuine mikunis that you guys recommend? I'm going to end up with like 80 bucks worth of just jets at this rate lol
  7. PPS got me all taken care of on the crank welding and only got me for 80 bucks. Good guys for sure. Went to order all my shit through Vito's with the 25% discount we get and those guys don't have shit in stock. To eBay we go! $700+ worth of little shit like reeds cool head and other stuff about to be ordered today. Oversized radiator (overkill, I know) and a carb sync tool I bought earlier this week should be here any day
  8. Dem SLP PIPES DOE thanks JDS Customs
  9. Man I can't stop showing off. I'll chill out on that lol
  10. Looking at my stator I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to pick up another one and keep this as a 'spare'. It's covered in mud if you can't tell. The bike didn't seem to have issues starting/running yet but it looks like a weak link waiting to give me trouble. Actually the bike was a little bit hard to start some of the times but I attributed that to bad gas and general need for clean up/motor refresh. What do you guys think
  11. Not sure about the year but heres a chart of the banshee by year. I'm new to Banshee's personally so i dont know off hand, but the rears are disproportionate because the wheels are 10 inch instead of the factory 9 inch, and the tires appear to be 18 inch instead of 20inches what people normally run. I personally like that look but i guess its more personal preference.
  12. Lol I locked her down last November and we just had twins this October. She's about as tied down as they come now
  13. Thanks guys. Ask and you shall receive She did a professional photographer shoot for me as an anniversary gift a few years ago. Had some underwear made with my board name on the back and wore some of her riding gear. Wife material for God damn sure
  14. Thanks for the pictures and info, it seems like I should be fine then. As for the key, it's not a security thing or theft deterrent I just like the idea of a key on it. If I can't find a way to mount it on the bars when I start playing w it then I will just pop a hole in the fenders somewhere lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Waiting on PPS to let me know my cranks trued and welded so I can start putting the motor back together. That's where I'm at for now, updates as I get new parts and get more shit done. Fuckin stoked to ride this thing! I have about 15 minutes total seat time on a banshee ever so I'm excited to get this lightly modified and freshened up out on the sand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Progress from this weekend. Spent 8 hrs scrubbing the dirt and grease off the bike, stripping parts to sell and making room for new parts. My sweet ball joint removal tool. Place between the ball joint castle nuts and crank that bitch out until things pop loose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Dune trash Here's the led light bar in m trying to duplicate. Can't find shit for info about it but I speculate the bar is 14" wide and single row led. Going to grab one on eBay for $50 and see what I can do to make my own similar to this one. It's clean and even though the single row set ups I see on eBay are rated at 2000 lumens I imagine they're still a step up from stock lights. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. thanks man! I spent 2 hours SCRUBBING THE SHIT out of this thing last saturday trying to get all the grease and dirt that was on this thing. The previous owner had been mudding it so it was filthy. Im pulling all the nuts and bolts to grease and clean this bitch down to the frame. Christmas day progress right here what claw hammer? i dont see anything. MMMMMMMMMMMM ELKAS set up for me and my riding style etc.
  19. Decided I needed to buy my first Banshee back in November so i found a stock 2006 SE a few hours from home. Picked it up about 4 weeks ago and its been eat-sleep-banshee since. Prepping for a week long trip out to Glamis February 27th so im scrambling to get the bike freshened up with a few performance parts. Heres my progress so far, will ad pics as i go. 2006 SE Banshee; came with some kind of billet case saver, billet impeller and rebuilt water pump, new clutch and springs, E brake block off plates, fresh new Yamaha kicker, new OEM kill switch assembly, new axle bearing carrier, aftermarket wheels and tires, ASV brake and clutch levers. So far I have purchased Elka stage 3's, Alba +2+1 long travel arms, extended brake lines, billet anodized brake line clamps, SLP pipes from JDS Customs, Skat Trak Mohawks on wheels, Skat Trak Extreme 8 paddles in a 20x11x10 size mounted on a set of 10x10 ITP wheels, Fasst Flexx bars, Moose Easy-Pull clutch device, and YFZ450 brake master cylinder and dual piston front brake calipers. I have a list of parts being ordered from Vito's including; Vito's stealth head (stock head milled for domes), 21cc domes, TORS delete kit, timing plate, Vforce4 reeds, and a billet air box adapter plate plus a Uni foam filter. Crank is at Precision Power Sports being welded as of last Monday. Ordering up new gaskets/seals/piston rings this week. Also on my shopping list is a carb sync tool for $40 shipped on amazon.com and an LED light bar (designing my own mounting for stock location). Bunch of other stuff im forgetting but thats the majority of my plans and progress so far And my wife who's been nice enough not to rip my throat out for spending every waking moment on BHQ the last month Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That's a solid idea. I have seen people mention using a cigarette lighter from a pick up truck to mount the key tumbler in. I wouldn't be opposed to drilling a hole in the side of the fenders around the steering stem to mount the key through as well either. I like the key, obviously it won't stop someone from stealing the bike I just like that there is one at all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hey thanks for the info and pics! I have the same style of Flexx bars. Are yours angled back towards rider? I thought they were supposed to be a little more upright. it looks like you have the same pro taper fat bar adapters I have As for the key I don't want to cut up my wiring or remove the key, I like it there and I'm going to do my best to mount it on the Flexx bars similar to stick. If it won't work for what ever reason then I will mount it in the plastics somewhere around the stem. I really like the stock aspects of this machine; cutting the key out and chopping fenders Etc all that stuff cheapens these bikes in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
