  1. Did the tors delete and after about three tanks of gas one of the idle screws came loose and fucked up the sync etc. Is there a good way to get these things to stay put? In worried they are going to come lose and terrified of over tightening them in the aluminum carb housing as it is. Any tricks to keep them snug?
  2. Lmao Well the bikes running fantastic, temps are back in the normal range all yesterday 220 and below and I've been just beating the shit out of it. There's probably something in the other rad causing it to not flow right, I'm going to screw with it when I get home. Thanks for the help guys
  3. Ran real good for the night ride, I think the oversized rad might have had some blockages or issues cause the bike ran awesome out there tonight. Will update tomorrow after more runs.
  4. We stuck the stock radiator back on in place of the oversize unit. It had some aluminum shavings on the cap and we just figured it was a good idea to swap back to stock and see how it did. Headed out for a night ride to see how hot it gets
  5. With the cap off I can't tell the the fluid is circulating at all. It looks still. The radiator is one of those brand new oversized set ups and it gets hot as hell so I have to believe the motors circulating coolant through there. The water pump is a new high flow billet set up and it looked fine when we had the motor apart a month ago.
  6. Someone suggested I ditch the overflow bottle and run a line to my boot so I know when it's overheating or spitting coolant cause it's hot. That it won't be spitting coolant unless it's right before the point of hurting the motor and should be shut off. So I did that And it's just dribbling out the line non stop when the motor is running, I assumed it would lose some of the coolant to find a happy level with the coolant bottle removed from the system but it's just dripping out almost non stop. Just riding for 10 minutes I got the temp up to 245 on the gauge I have at the water outlet at the head. I lost a small amount of coolant looking into the rad it's about 3/4" below the opening for the cap so maybe only a few ounces? It seems to be slowly dribbling out whether it's hot or still warming up to operating temps. I ran it earlier with the cap off the rad, it was fine ( not shooting out) but the level slowly raised over a few minutes as it got hot. If I had a bad o ring on the head I would be losing coolant whether it was hot or not right?
  7. The water temp gauge is on the line coming right out of the head, is that where people normally want to read temps at?
  8. Found an infrared gun and went for a rip. Bike was reading 180 on the gauge but when I pointed the gun at the gauge the highest reading I could get on any part of the gauge housing was still 30 degrees less than the dial was reading. The cool head was reading close to the same temp as the gauge though but I don't know it that's normal or tells you anything. Should I be trying to read any certain parts on the motor with this gun to get an accurate reading?
  9. Plugs looked light brown ( more so than I'm comfortable with) so I tossed in the 350 mains since they are the only ones I have bigger than the 310's in it. Just rode it a few short trips around the sand and it's still fucking heating up to 240+. I have a stock grill and everything so no blockages for the rad. It's dribbling little bits of coolant from the area where the radiator is which doesn't make sense since the overflow bottle is hooked up. Going to see if I can't find a leak down tester out here but i think I'm SOL
  10. Lol if LSOK was this nice i wouldn't have driven 25 hours to Glamis yesterday
  11. First day out here riding this bike I just put together and it's overheating like crazy. I get 15 minutes in and it's seeing 230-240 degrees on my gauge so I have to shut it down to cool. Is my jetting too lean maybe? 2006 banshee fresh top end +4 timing, 22cc domes Clean new air intake Tors delete Rejetted carbs with 30 pilots and 310 mains Slp pipes and a cool head Upgraded water impeller and oversized radiator 8 paddle extremes I'm 245 lbs and it's in the mid 80's here temp wise. Any ideas about why this thing is getting so hot? I thought it was going to run around the 220 range at its hottest.
  12. hey ya Bennett they are brand new hubs. They are aluminum with a steel insert for the axle splines.
  13. fuck i didnt even notice that. The bike and hubs are at my brothers waiting for the trip, i will have him throw some dirt tires/wheels on and ride around to make sure that shits not wobbly. Fucking better not be lol
  14. Durablue hubs showed up yesterday. 24 spline set up for 4/110 bolt pattern. These were a cheaper alternative over just buying new paddles and wheels, plus i have a bunch of honda stuff left over from all the 250r stuff so why not. Bike is prepped and in the enclosed trailer for Glamis, we leave next friday morning for the "Imperial Invasion" and will be out there a week. Pretty stoked to see how this bike acts in the sand, this will technically be the first time i've been out on an actual ride with this bike.
  15. Haha thanks for the reply I ended up just saying fuck it and bought a pair of Durablue hubs that are 24 spline and have the 4/110 bolt pattern. It will solve my immediate problem so I don't have to sweat waiting for new wheels to be powder coated so I can swap paddles over. On an unrelated note, you made a post over the summer where you created a simple cheap leak down tester and I spent like 2 hrs cruising my hardware store and local pluming supply store to find these stupid ass plugs like you ran lol. Drove me crazy
  16. Here's the wheels and tires I have already. I wanted a wider foot print more for just looks when I put this bike in the picture together. I want to say they are ITP wheels that are 10x10" with a set of 20xx11" skat trak extremes on them. Can't find 10x10 wheels any where that are already black so I can run these tires and I don't really have 200-300 bucks for a new set of paddles on wheels. I wanted to run these if possible, the wheels aren't a solid plate in the center so id be weary about slotting or drilling them and compromising things. I found some durablue hubs that are made for the Yamaha 24 spline axle and fit a 4x110 Honda bolt pattern I'm probably going to buy. I hadn't heard anything about the billet case savers being junk, that sucks.
  17. Lol man just trying to make it work. Now I have to buy some more 10x10" wheels and have them rush powder coated so I can swap tires over
  18. We drive straight through, it's like 24-28 hrs of driving depending on stops and break downs lol. There's three trucks and trailers in our caravan, headed out to ride for a week
  19. Lmao I like that factory set up, surprised more people don't run full fenders on here. I bought a nice polishing pad in going to hit these fenders with before we leave for California, get em all shiney like
  20. I'm trying to figure out some kind of hub adapter; my paddles are on Honda wheels and I read a few places I could coerce some worn in 400ex hubs on my yami axle. The set I got on eBay aren't Fucking cooperating so I'm trying to see what other options are out there. any input guys? About to hit my buddy up that owns a water jetting business and see if he will cut me a set of 4/115 to 4/110 adapter plates out before we leave for Glamis
  21. Dat key relocation doe Bikes got Mohawks on the Front, I'm waiting on different hubs for the rear and need to throw my 8 paddle Extremes on. We leave for Glamis (25 hr drive) Friday morning the 26th for a week of riding and camping. Stoked to let this thing stretch its legs out in the sand. Initial impressions after riding this thing: I'm blown away by how stout these things are with a few bolt ons! I have no prior banshee experience but I'm impressed. The timing plate, pipes, jetting, 22cc domes, and intake made a world of difference from how this bike pulled in stock form a few months ago. Actually happy I didn't go 4mil for now, I'm sure that will change after I get some seat time though
  22. Plastics back on, radiator topped off. Relocated the key to the fender, I'm really pleased with how it turned out
  23. Bennett those jets are awesome the 30's I stuck in for pilots are rich as fuck but will do for now. That bullseye case is awesome btw I crammed all my keihin jets in there too lol Updates: finally made it out to my brother house to do some of the final work today. Put on the new ball joints (all balls brand), got the bike aligned and did my best to set the front end camber or sag wth ever it's called. New clutch cable, bled the front brakes. I learned how to sync carbs today and set idle with the new screws, took a bit to learn but it's perfect now
  24. Glamis Trip starts Feb 27th!
