  1. I'm not terribly familiar what creates 392cc of displacement? Is that what a 4 mil and 110mm rod creates? Those Hp/tq numbers sound like exactly what I'd like to achieve
  2. Haha thanks guys, ya I'm happy I kept it. Back is still all jacked up from that mountain bike crash in August but everything hurts from years of skateboarding/snowboarding/atv accidents lol. Ayesully ya I have slp's I forgot to note those in my first post. Also have the airbox single pod mod I can't recall the name of it though. Still on stock carbs. I really want to keep the stock jugs, I've seen people make good power with these and I don't want to go all crazy with spending lol
  3. I built my 06 SE Last winter and did all the basics people on here recommended for starting with (reeds/timing plate/cool head and Domes/welded crank/tors delete/new gaskets and seals etc), and also full suspension upgrades. After riding the bike at Glamis and here in the woods I think I could use more power. I'm on stock bore stock stroke, fresh rings and good compression. 22cc domes and pump gas. I am considering doing a 4 mil crank with the stock unported cylinders and calling it a day. Is this a bad idea, or is there a better route I could follow to pull some better power from this motor on pump gas? Budget is somewhat tight with Christmas here and I want to get on it ASAP Thanks in advance
  4. I have ASV shorty levers. Fuckers are nice but with these HD springs not real fun to ride. Don't get me wrong I made them work just fine with the HD springs at Glamis for a week in Spring, just not real enjoyable since the bike really doesn't make enough power to merit HD springs or a lockup. Yet.
  5. Yep. Work picked up so I could afford to hang onto it. Pretty thankful I still have it, just hard not to build a 4 mill now lol
  6. I just swapped out the Heavy Duty (tusk brand i think?) clutch springs that came with my bike last year because the clutch pull is retarded. I dont think i have enough power to really need some serious clutch pressure like they provide. I put a new set of Yamaha clutch springs in and now my clutch pull is super easy, it was almost unenjoyable to ride the bike before after the first 30 minutes into a ride. My questions; will i end up having issues with the clutch slipping now? Should i throw three of the HD springs back in there for good measure? I have the pancake bearing adjusted just fine, engagement isnt an issue. I just wont be able to test it until saturday when i ride next and theres no way in hell im wrenching when im supposed to be riding Bikes mods: non-ported cylinder fresh rings and rehoned vforce reeds timing plate cool head and 22cc domes welded crank and fresh bearings/seals throughout SLP pipes air box mod i think these are any relevant 'power' mods worth mentioning
  7. Took some better pics with the dirt tires on her. Probably going to give it another week or so before I start the part out.
  8. Lol I was hoping for a bakers dozen. This isn't your average banshee, it's got purple flame stickers on it.
  9. Looking to sell off my 2006 Special Edition Yamaha Banshee, I fucked up my back on the 11th in a mountain bike crash that left me hospitalized. Probably not going to be back on a quad or bike of any type for a long time. Selling this bike to help with the bills I expect to get hit with for the ER visit and hospital stay. I just built this bike up over the winter, its in fantastic shape, runs awesome we just tore the motor down and rebuilt everything over the spring. Its got about 5 hrs of total ride time on the motor build and related parts. EVERYTHING IS NEW OR REBUILT WITH MINIMAL RIDE TIME ON IT! In some of the pics it has the black sand tires on it, the bike will come with the aftermarket aluminum wheels and tires you see that match in the other photos. I can include the sand tires for a different price if someone is interested. Build thread for more pics and info on the bike: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/184941-my-2006-se-build-up/page-1 Brakes and suspension: NEW Elka stage 3 Long Travel front and rear shocks/suspension, set up for a rider between 220-250lbs. Bike was almost totally stock when I bought it besides the wheels/tires. Price the items i listed above, i think my price is more than fair. The bikes been out once to ride since all the work has been done, and that was to ride at Glamis in California at the sand dunes. Bike has some normal blemishes on the plastics which I had planned to buff out but never got around to it. Bike comes with a STACK of paperwork from Yamaha and the previous owner detailing a mountain of maintenance done as well as the bill of lading (title). Bike is great, runs amazing, needs a good home Bike has been built to play with, and the new parts have barely been broken in. Price is probably outrageous but im not hurting to sell, honestly I realize it's high but I'm not looking to part it out to make my money back so its $4500 OBO. Thanks for looking, im sure I missed some stuff too. If you have any questions just ask!
  10. Lol still here just working like crazy. Finally getting around to riding again, took a minute to live down the wife's anger over the California trip. Planning for Rose City Michigan ride in July for a few days. Looking back I should have gone big on the motor, it gets around fine but another 10-20 Hp would be fucking perfect
  11. one of our buddies had to be flown up to Palm Springs 2 hrs away after he wrecked on his MX/TT bike and didnt know who or where he was at. The trip was called the Imperial Invasion and its based around 3 wheelers hence all the trikes. There were a bunch of different 450 based trike conversions people brought out. Probably over 100 people showed up even though it was considered an 'off year'. Im dying sitting here at work looking at pics
  12. my old 250r (now my brothers bike) with a 310 kit, Inverts and a trx450r rear end. My brothers wife on her 350x with a 400 big bore kit
  13. My brother is stoked about that new blue 450R trike build. He sent a shitload of parts out to Richard M in Phoenix that built it and it turned out sharp. The builder has a yellow limited edition schemed YZ450 conversion similar to the blue one he built for my brother. There is another conversion bike i posted above you guys may have noticed, its got white fenders and the red and black seat with "450R" stamped on it. Thats Jason Hall's conversion he built almost a decade ago using a honda 450. Things freaking nasty, i rode it out of the dunes on our first trip to Glamis in 2009 and the bike is just amazing all around. clutch pull wasnt too terrible, the shorty ASV levers didnt help though lol. I got used to it but will probably be looking at better clutches in the future Ya she was beat when i got back. I gave her a back massage and sent her to bed for a real night of sleep while i watched the twins. I admire how strong she is, all the things shes gone through like losing 80lbs to get in shape for her first bikini competition in 2014 are just small examples. I support anything she wants to do, and in return she puts up with my shit lol Im really lucky to have someone like her
  14. lol it wasn't supposed to be a big deal but the twins started teething hardcore after I was 1000+ miles away
  15. I'll throw up some more pics and junk later, I'm still trying to get my wife to stop being pissed off for leaving her alone with teething 5 month old twins for 9 days so I could go drink beer and ride bikes lol
  16. there was only one TPC out there over the week. My brother had a trike built that he picked up out there using a WR enduro bike with YFZ450 components and modern front forks. Thing was sketchy as fuck on hills like Patton lol it's def a gnarly machine though and did well for its first week of abuse after a bunch of fab work like that
  17. Ya it's an easy pull, even with the new cable the clutch with HD springs was a pain in the ass. I miss my Rekluse clutch lol
  18. Overall thoughts on this bike after spending a week on it; i cant say enough good shit about this machine. i rung this things neck for 7 straight days and put around 25 gallons of gas through it and its still starting first kick and idling perfect. For never having owned a banshee or actually been out to ride one for any amount of time i was impressed. The bike was reliable and for an unported/unstroked motor it had enough power to keep me happy. I was able to let it scream around the bowls and hills in 4th and 5th gear, climbing steep hills in 3rd was fun too. The long travel A arms and Elka's made the ride smoother than i imagined, i was still bracing myself for rough transitions and choppy sand out of habit from riding bikes with worn suspension. This machine soaked up some HARD landings. I flew off a few drops and witches eye's and i think the suspension was a big part of saving my ass Gripes: lights need upgraded to an LED bar so i dont out-ride my field of view at night. The vibrations were a little annoying when things like one of the idle screws in the TORS delete started backing out. Otherwise i cant really think of anything that annoyed me besides filling the tank 2-3 times a day i love this bike, it really took an ass whooping out there and came back for more. Planning some trail rides later this month to see how it does in the woods. Thanks again for all the help and advice guys, i dont think this bike would have turned out as nice as it did without all the info i got and found on my own here at BHQ.
  19. uncut fenderz4lyfeYO seriously i hate the look of cut front or rears, just fucks the bike up cosmetically for me personally. thanks man. Bike did amazing out there, i couldnt be happier with how she ran
  20. Banshee selfie party 2016 fuck it's hot here
  21. We caught most of the coolant when I swapped the radiator back over and I didn't see any shavings or questionable debris in the coolant so we put that coolant back in. I haven't seen anything floating or otherwise in the radiator I didn't flush the system but I will be going through everything after this trip ends Saturday. Bikes been running great I couldn't ask for a better scenario since it was completely redone over xmas and has seen a week of pure hell in 90+ temps lol
  22. I've got no fuckin idea why it was overheating with that radiator but the bike instantly started running cooler after I swapped the stock rad back on. Might be some packing foam or junk in that rad, but I'm sure as shit not going to fuck with it while I'm here at Glamis for a week if the bikes running great. I will update about what I find in the oversize rad when I get home if I find anything else.
  23. Ya both carbs have that surface filed flat. I'm just paranoid about over tightening it and just pulling the screw threads out. They've been snug since the other day when the lock but backed off though, so whatever
