  1. Lol. Okay okay, I get it. They'll get scrapped! Anybody got white plastics they'd trade for black? Trying to decide what color to powdercoat stuff. Frame definitely red or blue. If I do red frame i would do either black or white plastics. Blue frame white plastics and white arms/swinger. How do you guys decide color combos?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Don't tell me how to live my life! Lol. I was debating it after seeing how flimsy they are. Just needed a lil push to trash em Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Got my backshields cut. Test fitting calipers. Will need short bolts so they dont contact rotor when tightened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Alright. Sorry guys, few things came up over the winter which prevented me from being able to spend some time on the banshee. But the project is not dead!! Last week been cleanin up shop at home and gettin fathers projects finished up. Got all my stuff brought home from work as well. I'll have to go back through this thread to see where Im at and update pics. But heres where I'm at now. Test fitting everything before sending frame for powdercoat. My JL swinger came in and its beautiful lol. I would love to order some stage 3 elkas right now. But cost is keeping me. I found a set of triple rate works front shocks on ebay Thinkin those and have them with my rear gone through. I remember seeing a guy on here that does shocks.... Something "cal" suspension!? Socal maybe? Also need to cut my brackets for yfz calipers to fit, order a fancy bolt kit, and new bearings/bushings for all my suspension components Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Looking for new or used aftermarket front shocks if you have any. Thanks
  6. I have not payed yet. But $300 and some change to cover some shipping. You got a point. Im just curious as to how they are hybrids. Stock yfzs are 15.75 long and these are 16.5. I guess i jumped on the opportunity i saw before really waiting for alot of input. And they may not be as good as a set of elkas but do you guys think they would work for a while and outperform stock until i can fork up some for a nice elka set? Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
  7. Randall Stigers. I told him I will buy them. Been doing some browsing on here and see guys can do YFZ shocks on stock arms, its just a little stiffer and rasies front end. And thats from a 14.75 to 15.75". And I have the fireball +2s so 16.5" should work nice. Definitely better than stock I am assuming haha

  9. Hey, guys. Finally back on here. Some of you may have seen my "new banshee build" thread. Was gone on vacation and doing a few things for family and friends. Time to focus on the bike again. I'll cut to the chase... Found on a banshee group on facebook a guy is selling parts and he has some hybrid shocks. 07 yfz/09 raptor shocks for 200-225 lb rider. I am 205 lbs roughly. He said they were custom built for him, they are on a +3 a arm bike. He does trail riding and mx, very similar to my riding. And that they perform just as good or better than a set of elkas. He messaged his builder to get the specs of them for me, so I am awaiting that. But he mentioned thet are 16.5" eye to eye. My bike is a 87 J arm, +2+1 fireballs with later style hubs and yfz calipers. I am assuming shock mounts are same, so a arm to j arm will work. But will 16.5 length be ok? I am fine if it raises front end an inch or so, I just dont want any geometry bindings etc. Also, I went with a -1 JL swinger. IF that affects anything. Seller is from Kentucky so I would have them shipped to me. Not sure if he is a HQ member. Just trying to make sure they will work before I pull the trigger. I think price is reasonable. And will post pics from phone.
  10. Thanks man! Havnt really made any real progress lately. Just been gettin all my parts in and some tools setup for use later on. Got a few side jobs yet to finish up than i can focus more on the bike. Also still waiting on things from JDS, i had called them roughly a week or so ago and were waiting on bracket to be back from powdercoating. And my JL swinger is a couple weeks out too. But I did get my yfzr hubs today! Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
  11. Hey guys. Been pretty busy lately. Just wanted to check in to keep this alive. Got my 08 yfz brake lever/master delivered today. Along with my fireball arms! And i got my blast cabinet altogether over the weekend. Made sure to seal all the seams and joints. Gonna hopefully get that hooked up this week to air and get some media and give er a wirl. Also picked up a oven off local sale site for $50. Thinkin of buyin a powdercoating gun to do the small things. And can use it at work for heating press fit stuff and what not. Win win i guess. Also helped a coworker with his truck this weekend. Drive to pick up set of rims and tires, Was getting some rust on the rockers and fender wells. Did some flares and bedlined the bottoms. 12. Wishing i would have recorded measurements of all that :/ than I'd be more helpful haha Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
  13. Went to steel supply shop and had them cut me a tube of regular steel pipe. I think I told him 1" outter diameter and it was roughly 3/4 inside diameter. I had to grind turnbuckle nut edges a little to fit inside Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
  14. Was off a 2010 yfzr if i recall. They had a pic of them. I'll make sure to double check when they arrive! Thanks for heads up. Ill run a inline regulator/drier along with the shops drier on compressor to help keep things dry. I have a pretty nice big shop vac at home ill hook up to it. I don't plan on blasting things everyday. Just nice to have for things here and there. I'll let you guys know how it works out though! Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
  15. I'm gonna give it a try. Foreman of mine had one for few years with no problems until his brother in law bought a snapon cabinet blaster. And all the reviews i read said just make sure you take time to seal it during assembly. What problems did you have outta curiosity? Sure did. Got free shipping to my door. Sent from my iPhone..... Somewhere?
