  1. OK i will try again tomorrow night with the engine warmed up. I did take it for a good ride this weekend (4ish hours) and it seemed help a bit. I wonder if the head is warped... would that cause a misfire? It would just barley keep up to my buddys '85 Cr 250 this weekend which doesnt seem right.... oh and left pipes run about 15-25 degrees cooler than the right... over fueling?
  2. Damn cuz I just did a rebuild
  3. Hey just had one more question, Ive seen on other forums and such that you can take the coil wires out of the coil.. is that true? i have a spark tester i'm going to try tonight but the misfire doesnt seem to move when i switch wires from one to the other. What else could cause a random misfire? i did a leakdown test on the bottom end and it held 7 psi for 10 minutes so i dont think that is my problem.
  4. And ya they're are sealing good with no light coming threw
  5. Update! Moved the left slide to the right carb and the right slide to the left carb and no more bog! I believe he had the slides in backwards.... the flat side of the slide is to the front now.... has TONNNSSS of power... now I know why they call it a banshee hahahah but I still have more smoke from the left pipe and a slight misfire on that side as well... I have a new head gasket coming so hopfully that cures it...
  6. Also he had vforce 3 reds in because he had it bored to the max I think .55 over
  7. Still a bad miss on the left side n spitting fuel... could I try changing jets from one carb to the other to see if maybe that's my problem?
  8. I got 95 psi on both cylinders tonight with both testers. .. I do have a new head gasket coming because that seems a little low no??
  9. Stem trpr I did see the Reeds and they do look good but I may haveissued something the first time around. And don't worry... I don't know my way around a banshee very well... mostly just tinkered with 4 strokes mostly. Larry's shee I knew I needed the orings... guess I'll hAve to find some. .. are they special or?? And do I just put some plugs in the crossover tube holes or do they make different ones?
  10. Well idn about quality but I can steal the one from work tommorow and test with it.
  11. Ya I tried that and no change...the left slide is black on one side but it was like that when I put it in after the rebuild.... it's kind of a rattle out of the exhaust... you can feel the misfire cuz the exhaust pressure drops too
  12. Ya I synced the carbs and me and three others agree they're moving at the same time... I don't have a vacuum gauge or carb sync or nothing but I had to tights and loosen the throttle cable to sync em.. the knobs on top of the tors are for idle adjustment they just move the slides and needle up and down... everything seems good there but I can recheck em tmo... got too frustrated tonight haha
  13. Oh and I set both floats tonight the left carb was good the right was spilling fuel but corrected now
  14. Sorry just seen your last post.... I run stock pipes but I'm not sure if buddy I built it with put them on right... is there suppose to be an o ring in the pipe? Also a spring between the two pipes?
  15. I run Lucas semi synthetic oil. So I came home tonight and remixed my oil 32:1 and it ran a bit better. Than I noticed that the right carb was spilling fuel out of the overflow so I fixed that (float was out of adjustment). I threw some new plugs on and checked spark and both are crisp and bright blue. It ran great for a min but still seemed to be not quite as quick of a response as some videos I watch. But when I took the air filter off to see if that changed anything I noticed the left side seems to be misfiring fairly often so I felt the pipes and the left side is defiantly running cooler than the right and smoking a whole lot more when revved... no air leaks with the carb clean test and running the air screws in doesn't seem to help. I let it run 10 mins with the new plugs in it and the left side had a little bit of fuel on the plug but the right side had more... the left pipe was also throwing black fluid out of the silencer onto the ground so I'm stumped.....
