  1. Driveline clutch is good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Switch to cpis or shearers and have your port work re worked by someone for more top end up your compression with a good dome design and timing to run 110 fix clutch good tune - no reason why you cant be out front of Dr q or that cheetah or equal
  3. from what ive experienced with bad reeds, it wont even get to high rpms, cut outs every where in the rpm range did you check all electrical stuff yet? Sounds like you did coil wire trim already with no dice ohm your caps, stator and coil leads and secondaries and see if those check out. If your cdi was bad I was think that it wouldnt have spark.
  4. might as well do their new 7 mil cost aint much different!
  5. why dont you fix your clutch, if its as bad as you make it sound, its slipping bad and affecting you on the big end.
  6. Just stick with stock gearing or drop a tooth in the front
  7. When I put my 7mil together this year I picked up some carbs from ben martins and they had the oem keihin springs in it, I just switched to the easy springs from fast and its crazy how much easier it is on the thumb. I had them in my 421 i had and forgot how much the difference is between the two.
  8. really? i had stock bike (as fas as i knew from looking at the motor) with PCs with 20 inch holeshots and it was great on the low end. The smaller carbs will definitely give it better bottom end. Its pretty dang noticeable going from stock carbs to 35s.
  9. we are glad you are trying to MAGA and told them to kick rocks
  10. Sounds like your builder who ever he is has already given you some solid advice on how to make it run better on the big end. good luck
  11. a 4 mil crank its self is going to be around 420ish, but then you have to get porting done with it with new pistons. you could still run stock carbs, but if your doing a lot of wide open stuff most people will run 35 mm carbs. 28mm keihins are generally the inbetween people go with.
  12. what is considered "breaking the bank?" Some porting with increased compression and advanced timing should do. Depending on who does your porting, for an extra 400 ish bucks you can drop a 4 mil crank in there and really be out front of your buddies
  13. hello and welcome to the forum. and dont mind zilla hes the ball buster around here. specialblend already said it, a mild trail bike IN SAND against bikes that are long legged, you dont stand a chance. you need some more mods because just switching to some shearers or changing your gearing wont give the checkered flag. Now if you want suggestions on what to do to your bike, the options are endless, just depends on how much money you have to spend. But for about 800-1200 should give you the power you are looking for to be competitive on a play level
  14. I just called them. they said the diameter of the flange is 2 7/16 so it should be close.. they ship from cali so i cant get em by this weekend, this would honestly save me the most work if i order those
  15. i dont have access to weld at my home. Id have to go to my father in laws, not that its a huge issue, but im trying to get it done before monday
  16. I think that the flange that its attached to is too big isnt it?
  17. This is what I plan on it looking like http://www.sparksracing.com/extra-quiet-insert.html
  18. very true! yeah i like em. for sure. ill post some pics. it takes the 4 bolts to bolt on but i only tapped the 2 holes bc its really sturdy
  19. I actually just ordered 2 pipe fittings stainless steel 1 1/4 ID that im gunna hook to a sheet metal flange and epoxy them together and see if it holds up for the time being. that link would have been good too because i could just just cut it to fit because they are already bent
  20. looks super ghetto, but what ever works ! plus my front rad and gas tank cover are zip tied together lol so who am i to talk
