  1. You don't need the cases trenched for a 4mm.
  2. Checkster, some people will port up to your budget. Andy at grand river will ask what you want to spend and then decide what's best for the money. Do you have pipes? If so advacing the timing is good. $35 ricky stator plate. Get the head cut. You can get nice bottom gains from that. $25-$40. Local machine shop charged me $25 to take .030" off a couple years ago. According to people on here, the flywheel lightning will allow you to rev faster. Don't know what boonman charges for the flywheel being cut. Have you put a better air filter system. If not, I'd defenitley look into that. More air= more fuel. Make sure you jet accodingly $50-$90. Top end kit... I'd go with wiseco for pure reliability. Sounds like that's what your looking for. Depends where you get it, but around $150 for pistons and gasket. Boring, $80 for both.... if it needs it. That would leave about $150 for a clean up on the ports. Sometimes, they'll include the bore in the port work. You can get mad gains from proper port work. Even more than adding pipes on a stocker.
  3. I cut that plastic part with a hacksaw. Really easy. You will see what everyone is talking about when you pull it. If not, you'll know what they are talking about when you try to put the cover back on. Nothing else to buy.
  4. Rev limiters come in many forms...lol. Pipes, carbs, pistons, porting, rods, all the above. But, a banshee does not have an electronic rev limiter. The screw is there so you can make sure your not putting to much tension on the throttle cable at full throttle. If your slides in the carbs are all the way at the top and your pushing the throttle really hard... it could snap the cable. If you adjust theat screw properly, you'll be putting force on the screw instead of un-do stress on the cable.
  5. I don't have an answer for your flow question. I'm not sure reeds will limit the hit of a two stroke either. It may help some. Carbon fiber reeds are stiffer and will generate less flutter at topend but according to some builders I've talked to ... don't last as. TDR is tony dukas racing. http://www.tonydoukasracing.com/www/tonydoukasracing/ And this link might help understand how the whole two stroke works. Basically when the motor pulls vacuum for fuel they open, when there is compression in the cylinder, they close. That's it. The thinner they are, the easier they open, but can flutter on topend because they are weak. http://science.howstuffworks.com/two-stroke1.htm
  6. I'm not 100% on the rpm range, but I think 9000 is close to max on a stock banshee. An msd ignition will not give you more rpms. The stock pipes limit that. Banshee's do not have electrical rev limiters on them. If you have microsoft excel, click this link. It's from BenBB's web page. Put in your tire size, sprocket sizes and it will tell you mph in the perfect world..( no slipping or other degrading elements) http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/speed.xls
  7. Hell yes, only trouble for me is I'm spending a lot of $$$ on roostfest already. Let us know what's up. That place just seems bad ass.

  9. I couldn't imagine... Keep your head high and like BenBB said, remember the good times.
  10. Leave the hole open so a vacuum doesn't get created above the slide.
  11. You can get more power from porting than from pipes... if that tells you anything.
  12. Let us know what type of riding you do. You'll get more accurate answers that way... rec/trail trail/some mx, mx, drags...whatever. Porting and pipes are the biggest bang for the buck. If you crank is fine, I'd have it ported. If you want a stroker later, just tell your builder so the don't over port.
  13. The phase of the crank needs to be checked and corrected before welding.
  14. I wouldn't worry to much about the front. The front sit a little high on a banshee anyway. If they are cheap enough.... go for it. You will loose a full inch on ground clearance though.
  15. Castrol GTX.... 10w30 like the book recommends. No troubles... works great!!
  16. Okay, I know these are very basic, but here goes. Maybe, if at all possible, try a different cdi or coil. If it's happening only when it's warm, it could be something flaking in the cdi. That's my guess if your reed are in good shape. Have you eliminated the tors and parking break circuit. Maybe it's something very silly to do with them.
  17. The lines may be a material that causes them to seal also. Kind of like the stock head gasket has on it. I'd put the line side toward the enging also, but if you have them on already, I wouldn't worry about it.
  18. I've heard of people putting tdr reeds on v-force delta cages Talk about options !!!!
  19. Thanks, but my stockers are cracking. I had the 35mm intakes so I decided instead of spending money on intakes, I'd buy the carbs my builder suggested and now I can't find the intakes I already had....It just sucks. lol
