  1. Take a look at ricky stators also. I love mine. I'd stay away from heim joints on whatever you get.
  2. Once again I'm impressed with paul turner mids. I'm telling you guys. mrmatt has them, banchetta has them and they both smoke. mrmatt has stock cylinders and I'm running a stroker. He was tickin me off how hard it was to drag him when I had all the money in mine. He's fast. Minkia had his rockets on and it was real fast on top. I didn't ride it so I can't say much for bottom and mid but he had no problems riding like everyone else.
  3. I'll post some pics when I get a little more time.
  4. My stator went out on the second day. Nobody had one... the end. But I still had a freakin blast...
  5. I had a problem shifting while under throttle. The little cam that adjust the shifter to match the shift star was loose. It looks like a flat head screw and has a retaining nut. I tightened that up and it's fine now.
  6. Seemed someone had a similar problem and adjust the gap between the pickup coil and flywheel. Maybe your flywheel damaged the pick up coil or moved it.
  7. Banchetta even does great at drag racing people. Those pt mids are awesome.
  8. .030" is safe. Running race gas will not benifit you at this compression ratio. Actually, you would need to rejet for different fuels because the specific gravity of race fuel is lighter than that of pump 93 octane in almost all cases.
  9. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?count...arch=++Search++ That is a map that mrmatt posted to val-du-lakes.
  10. I just realized Banchetta started a second post on this. I'm sorry if I've made it more confusing. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?count...arch=++Search++ That is a map that mrmatt posted to val-du-lakes.
  11. Does anyone have dirctions to val du lakes campground?
  12. Does anybody know what Kerry is trying to say anyway. He tries like hell to say what people want to hear but doesn't seem to have his own direction on anything. Oh, and all this economy stuff going up and down. It's not because of the presidents choosen, it's based on how we spend money. Technology ie... the internet and ip technology created all the extra money during Clintons admin. Talk about making jobs. What happened when the market was saturated with the technology. Numbers went sour again for a while. We quit spending so much money to pay for the stuff we bought on credit. It's a cycle that will always happen. There can never be as much "free" and extra money as there was during that period all the time. Inflation would be insane. As for the war, there are ups and downs to it all. It's actually one of the smallest wars in U.S. History as far as death toll. We really are liberating these countries. If we back out now we'll leave a mess. If we stick with it the U.S. will be understood by the rest of the world when it all works out.
  13. I remember. You can read the number on that pic. I'm not sure what the other side number would be. That is the pto side (clutch side). It the side that take a lot of beating and goes out the most. That's what my builder said anyway. Looks like that part number is 70241-1.
  14. "Separating ball joint from spindle using ball joint separator - I know what a ball joint is but I don't know how to separate it from the spindle. Can someone explain what I need to do for this." You can get a seperator shaped like a wedge. Loosen the nut on the end of the ball joint and use the wedge shaped fork and a hammer to seperate "pop" the balljoint in the a-arm from the spindle. You can also put the nut at the end of the ball joint and hammer on it. The reason you put the nut on the end is to prevent damage to the threads of the ball joint. "Loosen the jam nuts on the tie rods - not too sure where these are." The tie rods connect the to the steering stem and then to the spindles. They are the connection that allow the wheels to turn when pushing and pulling on the handle bars. You will see a nut on the tie rod ends that is there to keep the tie rod from turning on it's own. Those are the jam nuts. If you loosen them, one is a left hand thread (turn clockwise instead of counter clockwise to loosen), you can turn the tie rods for adjusting. "Steering stem - not sure on where this is." The steering stem is what you bolt the handle bars to. It has the tie rods connecting to them at the bottom. "Heim joints - not sure what they are." Heim joints are the type of joints the a-arms use in place of the ball joints. Same location and purpose, just a different type.
  15. Set it at +4. You'll be happy you did.
  16. I'm sure firewood is a good idea if you have some.
  17. Sorry, it's in the title of the thread. Sept 17th to the 20th!
  18. If you're not loosing the coolant internally or have a problem with the machine... this will help your problem... http://kuoi.asui.uidaho.edu/~john/tips.html
  19. The 10 ball is still a ball. The needle bearing is a TZ. Here is a pic.
  20. Banchetta started THIS thread to get a silver lake ride together for the bhq riders. Come and play. Read through that if you want. I think most are going to stay at val-du-lake campground in the back if possible. I guess around site 77 somewhere if you can. If you need my cell phone pm me. I'll be in a black f-150 supercrew with a chrome fox sticker on the back window. All this information you'll need is in the previous web page mentioned above. I started this thread only because it is planned. I know it similar to the other, but I think more people need to know it's for sure without read a whole bunch of pages. Bring what you got. If it's a blaster, warrior, trike, dirt bike... whatever!!!! Let's ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
