  1. Here's the corrected link http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=22016&hl= Thanks fixitrod, I apparently don't know how to paste a link. You just had two http://
  2. CottenEyeJoe sells a conversion kit. I think it's $225 for the carrier and the part you need to weld to the stock.. or in your case stock extended swingarm. You could weld that onto your swingarm then send it off to the chromer.
  3. With Cotteneyejoe's conversion to roundhouse carrier and getting the old one chromed you could probably get away with less than half of that.
  4. That's what insurance is for. Man, an $8000 quad and no insurance....geez.
  5. Here's the corrected link http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=22016&hl=
  6. If you feel like you want to use anything as a sealant make sure it's a spray on. You shouldn't have to use anything with a stock yamaha head gasket.
  7. Sure wish I could commit.
  8. The timing can stay and Dave at Noss will let you know what he thinks as far as dome size depending on what fuel you want to run, elevation, timing, porting, etc...
  9. I'm assuming that a good aftermarket head must be the makes of a better cooling system. I'm running 192 and it's fine on the mx track.
  10. lol. no need to ge to pahrump, the concrete cockroaches hand out brochures and cards ,they will come right to your room.vegas is a trip. Where's jkjk's brother when you need a good story.
  11. Make sure you buy a stock head gasket from yamaha. Most of the aftermarket gaskets suck. Also, make sure your cylinders seem to be flush with each other on top while you have the head off. If you can get a good straight edge, lay it on there to check the cylinders and the head. I've been told the head gasket can fill in defects up to .006".
  12. i have the eight plate and the kevlar is the only setup i run...........and i've run that setup for about 5 years.........right after i started trashing dr racing clutch kits What year fzr would these plates be for?
  13. I thought the kevlar wore out pressure plates faster. I didn't know the kevlar would even touch the basket fingers.
  14. That's cool as hell, would be a riot to just hop off a road & hit the desert at will! What kind of bike did you have? I'm itch'n bad for a dualsport, but my financial situation is holding me back. But when I do get around to it I'm contimplating a DR-Z400S -maybe the 400E, then put a kit on it; or an XR400R with a bajadesigns dualsport kit...got any experience with either? I had a yamaha 600. The honda's really use to be the cadillac of dual sport bikes when I had mine. I only paid $500 for the one I had. I wrecked it, put some plastics on it and sold it for $1500. I always wanted the honda though becuase I liked to jump. The suspension sucked on the yamaha but damn it was fast. I use to smoke my friends 650 suzuki.
  15. True , sorry I forgot to mention that... Banchetta tried different timing on the dyno. I believe +4 to +5 was optimal.
  16. If you are running a grand river motor and it's on any surface that grips... I don't suggest dumping the clutch in second Oh, I just noticed you said grr pipes.. .not engine. Why do you say that? I wouldn't want somebody to flip over and get hurt.
  17. I lived there for 3 yrs when I was in the Army. Red sands was the closet that I knew of. Other than that we'd just pull over in the desert and ride. I had a dual purpose bike then.
  18. I've recently started to coat the airbox with grease between the filter and carbs. It should help stop anything that would pass the filter and happen to touch the walls of the air box. I was just in the garage cleaning the filter and thought it might help.
  19. Did it just start doing this. Could be a head gasket or a pinched line. Mine use to loose coolant during rides and I did this...... http://kuoi.asui.uidaho.edu/~john/tips.html
  20. It's amazing coming out of a corner to a double. Just hammer down and it's off. I also have the lightned flywheel on a stroker motor and -2 swingarm ...
  21. I freakin bored here at work. They don't have anything for me to do!!!! I'm just reading some old ones now.
