  1. I really like the fact that you can just slide the boot over the tubes when you want to take the carbs off. I'd rather have that box!! Seems like the filters may be a little small though. Guess I'd have to see it in person.
  2. IMS makes great pegs. If you're looking for nerfs with pegs, there were some new ones I seen in the last issue of atv sport. I don't remember the name of them though. They had replacable steel pegs too. Looked very very clean.
  3. I didn't know there were dunes in Alexandria. I was staitioned at fort polk for over a yr
  4. I suppose you could use a 5mm plate along with the domes for the stroker. The long rods won't change port timing, just move the position of them. That's why you use the 5mm plate. Now a 4mm stroke increase will change things. You'll need some porting for that and something to make up the extra 2mm increase in stroke each way. Domes or another spacer plate would accomplish that. Now, if a builder really wanted to increase the transfer volume, that may be a nice way to do it, but that's have to be worked out. Not a lot of since in it though unless you already have them or something. Why would you want to do that when you can just buy the 795's.
  5. Hell, I'm thinking of driving from Indiana by myself since I can't find anyone to ride or drive with.
  6. That makes sense. That way they don't have to weld up a chamber to make two carbs feed from one filter. Was it cheaper... it should be. It could just be two tubes with a box around it that way. A lot less complicated to make. Who makes that box.. I'd like to see it.
  7. The aftermarket boxes use 250r filters.
  8. I was down there a couple time visiting my brother. South of fort bragg there was a lot of guys riding. Looked like fun. I don't remember exactly where it was, but I can ask my brother the street names.
  9. and it's not worth it. I bought a used one and there was a weld missing and it sucked dirt. I noticed it before I used it and filled it with some rtv. I contacted them and they ignored me. I know I didn't buy it new.. but they should have backed the fact a weld was missing. I mean what... I took the weld off.. lol. Just fix the flange on the stock box and run with it.
  10. I used a really nice test (thanks boonman) to compare mine. I had two bad ones. I bought a new one and it reads the right compression now. Compression tester can be wrong. Being that they are 10% different though even with a bad guage, I'd say you are close to a rebuild.
  11. And..... for the record, the fatties seem to work real well on my ported stroker. I'm amazed at them at least. They have been a great pipe since it was stock.
  12. I agree with NYUK. This is a great site and has lately become "slightly infested". Hell, even the mature people are acting out of line lately. I think the reason a lot of the kids don't frequent ps is becasue they don't understand half the stuff over there. There are some real bad ass drag machines over there.... but that's about it.
  13. Nope, you just collect it all in a garbaged bag for a long period of time. Then you dump it all by their front door before they get home for work.
  14. That's what I think too. They have them for $255 at walmart. You can even get them cheaper at a pawn shop but you have to know what to look at to see if it's wore out.
  15. If you are using them both for hunting, make sure they are quiet.. I mean the operation. If you tap the handle it shouldn't make loud tick noises. Mossberg 500 have been around for a long time but are a little noisey. I don't think you can go wrong with the remington models. You have pump loading and autoloading(semi auto). You will pay more for auto loading and it may go over your budget. You can actually get remington at walmart here You also need to know if it's for 2 3/4 shells or if it'll take 3" also. Here's an 1100 autoloading http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...duct_id=3170093 Here's the 1187 it is also auto loading. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...duct_id=3170073 Here's and 870 pump loading http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...duct_id=3170095 camo deer gun for the wife a 16ga or 20ga depending on what she's going to hunt. http://www.remington.com/firearms/shotguns/fi_870_16ga.htm You can research remington at http://www.remington.com/NR/exeres/0000164...cookie%5Ftest=1 I think that will be the most hunting shot gun for the money. You can get mossbergs cheaper and they are a great shotgun.. but if you deer hunt, you want it to be quiet as possible. Here is a mossber camo and it a lot of shotgun for the money also. Maybe they have fixed the rattly pumps and mechanics in the last 3 yrs. for $255 I'd have to look at that one too. Also, if there is a camo pattern or other patter you need to look at the quality of the finish. See if it seems that it will nic easy or not. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...170088%3A170089
  16. You really are the best. I'll buy bigger bread
  17. cotteneyejoe sells the kits and knows a welder that may be able to hook you up.
  18. You'll get use to the rpm range. You don't have a cam, timing chain, valves rotating like mad like you do in a 4 stroke. Like said above... you'll know.
  19. AND,... why does butter bread always land with the butter side down...
  20. If you hold the clutch in to long you will weld the ball and pushrod inside the case..(the ball and rod are used to push the pressure plate out). It's the same as a four stroke, just need to be in a lower gear and once again.. rpm's. Ride out the rpms on these and you'll learn how much fun they really are.
