  1. Check some of these other things but after trying the needle and pilot screw try a leaner main... .I know Iknow... I must not know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying run the thing to death on the top end to test it but see if it helps. I am living proof and have see it for myself.... not just on mine.... the main and pilot can effect each other... it's usually a last resort because it's usually not noticable. You may have a lot more top end power to be tapped by going a touch leaner. This is if you mean the bike runs better with the lid off. 190 psi sucks hard and pulls a lot of fuel at once and for 2mm extra each way to boot on a trail port. I am running the same compression. I have to run everything way leaner than I ever expected. Give it a shot since you have tried a lot of things... it worked for me and I have a similar setup ... different carbs but still leaner than most. I got down to the smallest pilot made for k&n's and still sputtered and bogge. Went leaner on the main even though the plugs looked good and bang.... had to richen the pilot and pulled out some crazy ponies.
  2. You'd be shocked what a properly ported shee can do without the new crank, pistons, head, and complete rebuild... Being budget minded that is.
  3. You won't regret the shocks. If you do, then have the re-adjusted. That will be the issue if you have one. I've seen the springs powder coated and chromed but don't know if the add a flex to the powder.
  4. 340 with stock carbs and toomeys with toomey needles and your lean !!! For the hell of it drop that stock 25 pilot and a 290 in there ... and let me know. That will prove if your lean or rich. That may be close or a touch lean (pilot probably lean for all temps) because it's cold out. Then mess with the needle a little. I'd have to hear it but I'm guessing it's rich. *** I just re-read the lid part but It still baffles me. Drop the needle for starters then. Sounds fishy. Spray starter fluid around all your boots and carbs. If it revs you have an air leak. ***
  5. I had flipped rims for a while... hated them. Puts the center of the wheel in the wrong place to the hubs and creates terrible bump steer. If your just draggin it's probably fine except the whoops at the bottom of the dunes. Any trails, trees, rut or off camber hills makes it tough and the suspension becomes very soft. And, I folded an a-arm or two... stockers. Anyway, you can also buy flush mount valve stems from the speed shop for the inside hole. then you can pump them up from the inside.
  6. I think you should just mail that cub to me and I'll send you an axle and hub. What the hell is up!!!
  7. If you want to save money get some works shocks made for about 50lbs more weight than you are unless you barely cruz. Front A-Arms do help but a wider rear axle is what completes the front end. Thank about it. You can have a cushy front end and narrow back end it will still dive. Not as much but it will. If you make the front to stiff to compensate then what... your unhappy. Keep in mind the banshee is made to be an exciting fast ride. You have to pay to get it all. If the budget is 100% of your restriction and you are folding the stock a-arms like I use too then works shocks is a good start or something priced similar. I have custom Axis all the way around and I love them, but I paid for it. I have ridden a lot of shee's and you do get what you pay for. I can not in anyway shape or form ride a banshee with works shocks on whoops like I do mine... but the ones I've ridden weren't built for me. I have tuned mine up. You'll get a million different answers. I honestly think you need to ask a few people to ride theirs, take their body wieght in account and see what you think. You need to really decide your main riding style too... is it just cruzing, 40mph whoops (I love those) or jumping like a mad man (No shock is going to stop a flat crappy landing), just hitting deep whoops at the bottom of a dune and then straight up or mx tracking. You may want to budget for some adjustment of valving and springs too. You may get them and wish the moved slower or rode higher or moved faster and sat lower. A good suspension tech can get you through this. I bet 80% of the people never get it just right from the beginning. The other 20% probably don't know any better or just don't care. Ok, I didn't answer your question so basically, buy all you can afford when it comes to suspension, test and tune, get it right and ride fast.
  8. I just realized the member numbers are pushing 30,000 .... :ermm: :ermm: Damn
  9. Did start okay when it was warmer out? Have you done anything to the carbs? Does it start if you hold the throttle wide open as opposed to at idle or just above. You could adjust your pilot screw in to richen a bit. Try it at 1/4 turn from seated. 1/2... 3/4 ... if it starts they are lean. If you get over two turns out and it starts they are rich. Cold weather does create a lean condition. The screw adjust the amount of air that comes in. If it won't start at all it may not be jets at all. Make sure the choke tube is between the carbs too... start simple.
  10. Hey guys and gals and kids I've never met before. Just wanted to stop by the hq to say hey. Sure has come a long way from Network 54. I've been super busy with life since I lost my job 2 yrs ago. Trying to get back on track. I still have my shee. Hope to meet back up with a lot of you and get back to living. Lee, looks good man!! Way to stay with it. Rodney

  12. I've sold the cases but still have the crank. PM me or email me at fixitrod@comcast.net if you need any parts.
  13. I still have most parts. I've gotten a lot of interest but not many purchases. Just fyi
  14. I believe I have replied to everyone. If not, pm me and I'll get back to you. Rodney
  15. I sure appreciate the interest. If anyone wants to buy anything let me know. Some people are asking about the same items. First one with money in the bank gets it though. Nothing is sold until Money is either here or on the way. Ask me before paypaling or anything to make sure I still have the item. I haven't sold much yet. Thanks Rodney
