  1. There could be a couple things. Hopefully the eclip on the kick starter came off and caused no damage but I douhgt it. Sounds like it locked up when you were riding it. Worst case, Crank bit the dust. If you're already looking at porting, you should drop a stroker crank in it..... if the crank is bad. Did you check the ring gap before putting the pistons in? Also, did you have the cylinders bored? If so, and the top end is what's locked up it could be the ring gap or to tight of a bore. Like said above, put it in gear and push it. If the pistons can make a full revoulution, you may be in luck.
  2. sheep shit..... Farm...... ...Mushroom LMMFAO
  3. It's really helpful if you let us know how you fixed it. That's how we all learn not to make the same mistakes or fix things as we go. It also helps with the search function.
  4. Just wondering if anyone happens to be going to the badlands on Dec 08. If so, contact my by pm or email fixitrod@comcast.net ASAP. It's probably the last decent day of the year. I want to ride.
  5. He could have a little more carbon in the making less space for the air to compress. 5 difference is nothing.... really. That could have been from kicking it over faster....anything.
  6. Everyone has had this problem. A few of us have spent many many hours working on the trouble. It is the carbs and not something else. They stick just a slight bit but make it rev to the moon. We have theories, but no fixes yet. Well, one fix, buy new carbs. That's what I did. I bought some 28mm flatslides and can play in the water all the time now.
  7. I believe home depot or lows sells a high temp clear hose. Check them out.
  8. Cpis seem to be a great in frame pipe for drags. Don't know that much about the trinity style except there turbo domes are a gimmick. Quality of design and customer service. You can use the stock studs for the noss head and you get a 10% discount from dlnoss for being a member of the hq. Also, everyone that has one has had excellent customer service. You can't go wrong with the noss machine head.
  9. Depends what you mean by a rebuild. If you're talking about the top end then no... you don't have to have all the aftermarket stuff. It's a good idea to get that stock filter replace though for piece of mind.
  10. Sorry, I don't have an answer because I can't picture what you're working on. It's just to bad this is what the hq is coming to. Don't worry about it man..... ask away. Just don't ask in 3 different forums and it's all good
  11. That may be your problem. You may need to have someone cut 2mm from the bottom of your transfer to allow more duration. Call vito's, he knows how those plates work for sure. Let us know what you find out.
  12. Did you have porting to match or just use a spacer plate?
  13. Yep, that's it. It really is a useless spark though. Any fuel mixture that would have gotten pulled in would be at the bottom of the stroke our hopefully out the exhaust if ported properly. Also, the reason they spark at the same time is simplicity and cost. To have one pickup pick up a single directly from the flywheel that has a 1:1 ratio to the motor would require a distributor of some sort even if it had two coils to have the cylinders spark seperate. Two coils would be needed if the distributor were before the coil and one coil if the coil were in front of the distributor. It's a simple motor and since a useless burn on a 180 deg phased motor it doesn't matter. I'd rather it be simple. Makes it easier and cheaper to repair.
  14. Reshape the exhaust is one of the things done while porting. Doesn't look like the kit comes with the pipes though. Most people have pipes when the start getting serious so that may be why they aren't in the package. Looks like everything else is though. Carb, reeds, everything but pipes.
  15. The banshee is tough to cat walk wheelie because of the type of power it has. To feel the balance point just pick it up in the drive way and sit it on it's grab bar. The front wheels will be straight in the air. Put your foot on the grab bar and hang on to the handle bar (all this without the engine running). Push it forward a little at a time. You'll see where the balance point is.... it's way higher than you think. Then, just get the balls to drop the clutch a few times and let it rip. You'll flip up and may even fall off if you don't hang on, but it's not bad if you try from a dead stop. Once you get use to that, you can pop them when running is second. It's all practice and bruises just like most things. And, it's not as easy on the banshee as a 4 stroke. I can ride a wheelie better on my sons 80cc than my banshee.
  16. If he has stock sized tires and gearing he had to turn 15,000 rpms.....bullshit. It's all realitive to rpms wether it be at the tranny, motor, wheel, sprocket size, etc...
  17. Hey dunegoony, what kind of plate is that?
  18. Turn off the gas, pull the line from one left carb, put it in a gas can an turn the gas on. It's kind of messy getting the carbs out of the carbs but there is a bolt on the bottom of the carb bowl you can remove. I know that some will dis-agree with this, but I don't think it would harm the engine to let it idle and run the fuel out. The motor isn't burning all the oil anyway at idle and I believe that there will still be plenty of lubrication to not damage the motor. That's just my opinion though. It's safest to just drain it, but I've done the above before without trouble when I knew it was going to sit for a while.
  19. Depends on the brand of oil. An engine is an engine. The oil is the smart one here. I always say the oil is smart... not the engine. He may be right depending on the brand of oil. You need to see what the manufacturer recommends. I run at 32:1 though. You could try his theory and report back for all of us.
  20. It's just the oil residue. When the motor is cold, it doesn't burn the oil as clean as when warmed up. All 2 strokes smoke more when first started. Since it's blue... it's oil. No worries. Are you mixing more gas or more oil. If you add oil your making the fuel mix leaner.
  21. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.
  22. Just a note. Andy at grand river told me to run the .20's. The will pull smoother on top. BenBB, for the type of running you do that makes since. That was on a 4mm stroker though. .18 make since for a stock ported motor. You have 175cc on each side... approx.
