Lol maybe. I've had my vitos 4mil standard rod for awhile still in plastic, and box. I really can't comment or say anything negative about it. Hope to have my trail heap done by or before end of summer. I'm in no hurry. I'm doing all new suspension before anything. As for the hotrods crank I dropped one in my brothers bike, and it's holding up fine. Believe me he rides that motherfucker like he stole it! What brand of crank, and rods, and bearing combo you run?
