Carb leaking around the gasket.
uman1030 replied to protoolsuser81's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Impact screwdriver or a good set of pliers from the side. If the heads are already too far gone, you can use a small grinder/dremel to cut a slot in the bolt head and use a flat head screwdriver to remove it when finished. -
Yes it is, although he says Hiper is on backorder and he said,"I am not sure how long it would take to get them, weeks??" Probably just spend the extra couple $100 and buy them off ebay/atv galaxy. Last Large ticket item i need really. Basically everything else is sitting here in boxes. Engine supposed to arrive today. UPS man decided to F with me. parked next door for about 20mins then left lol.. Im like wtf where is my package!

if the sparkplug terminal(part that wire goes to) isnt tightened down or is striped and sitting in the cap it will rattle around when you place it on the sparkplug.
-
One side is cut away more then the other this is the airfilter side. Can also look at the syncing window. At around 3/4 throttle the small bebe on the piston (more of a small hole with an aluminum dowel pin in it) should appear in the window. If it never appears then they are reversed. Side with bebe goes to side with sync window on each carb.

Sparkplug tips are tight?

parking brake switch on clutch perch completely disconnected electrically? green/yellow wire from cdi not grounding anywhere? that is the only rev limiter..

are you counting clip position like this? What are you running for Air filtration? Full airbox, no lid, pods?

about on wits end with this thing a little help please
uman1030 replied to gomerkfx700's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If thats the advice he gave you then i would assume he knows what hes talking about. If lowering the main jet size had no noticable improvement i would probably go back to the larger size for safety measures and look in other directions such as A/F screw settings and possible spark problems. -
yes compression is quite low for those domes, should be around 160ish with those domes on a stock stroke/bore motor. Its probably very tired. And as stated above your fuel octane is much too high. high octane fuel needs more compression to burn off hence the unburnt fuel in your exhaust. 125 will take premium pump gas.

Assuming you've done a leakdown test to rule out an air leak causing a lean condition? Jetting sounds very conservative for a 421 serval. Alot of people run those jets on stock motors with some pipes and pods. -
Whats you elevation? What is your compression? Have you thoroughly cleaned the carburetors, checked float height, made sure not to mix up bowls. Are you sure your carburetor slides are in correctly and not reversed? (Cutaway toward air filters)

Think these are supposed to be the same ones we use on the Banshee. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Motorcycle-Caliper-Shaft-Bolt-Boot-x1-45132-166-016-305064-/150946495135?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item23251cba9f Never tried it personally but a while ago i was going to replace mine and did some research and found that several people claim these are the same part number as the ones for the shee.

It took him a couple days to return my email originally. I will call him on Monday and talk to him and try to place an order.

I know Toomey pipes want needle raised 1 clip leaner then stock in their recommendations. Others may be similar.

XFR's Arrived today! They appear to be very well made and SEXY as hell. I like them alot. Downside, they sent me the wrong color webbing. I asked for blue they gave me black nets. Not a really big deal, I would prefer blue though. I contacted the seller to remedy the problem hopefully they send me some blue nets . Other then that they are sweet!

Banshee's don't overheat just because they want to!
uman1030 replied to imrayzor666's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Instead of foolin with resizing pictures. Host them on photo bucket and list them here. Or use taptalk from your phone and attach the image -
This thread is not a good representation as to why he was trolled... Dude flipped out cause he posted questions to the OP on another thread, well actually several other threads. Where the OP hadn't logged on in like 6 years. I mentioned that he could check the date of the thread and when the Op last logged on and since it was 6 years ago it was doubtful he would get a reply from them. He pmed me some niceties then posted about how every one on this forum is a jack ass and some other superlatives... So admittedly the trolling him began. From his Pm it was obvious he came here to start trouble as he was a disgruntled ex-member. He proved himself right and got just what he was looking for.

Price changes significantly depending on what you want/consider a beast. several grand easy tho for engine, carbs and pipes

No it shouldn't do that, either the petcock needs to be rebuilt/replaced or the seal between petcock and tank needs to be replaced.

piston identification? and size needed
uman1030 replied to chris_sims1981's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
download taptalk on your phone and use it to upload pics from your phones picture gallery. It will put them in the right size to post them easily -
I wasnt saying that so the op didnt have to post pics. Just mentioned it as an option. It takes 1 min, its not a fake number its just one you can change any time or as often as you want. And personally I dont feel like some idiot on CL having my number which was my point. And with the amount of people who post a number and no pics and half the time don't know how to post pics as I've posted several for other people. Its just easier then waiting for them to figure it out.

can also use google voice. Then you have a private number that you can change that you can text or make calls from. I always use it for Craig's list.

You should probably do some research into finding out exactly what you have before you spend money on parts you may not even need. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=174273&p=1586467
