  1. Me and a buddy hitting up bundy all day sat starting at open! Some others meeting us up there mid day. Anything worth mentioning to check out or avoid? Will be our first time. Knobbies or paddles out there?
  2. not a stocker but I run 15/41 with 20" rears and 22" fronts on my 4mm serval and im lovin. I mostly ride trails also.
  3. I was just told this weekend by some one i met riding at our local riding spot. Now he seemed like an honest dude but who knows but i asked him similar questions cause he said he frequents silver lake. He said that guys that have really loud bikes load the bike into the back of a truck and drive out into the dunes to avoid being checked. So its very possible you saw some OOF'S out there if thats true.
  4. It KILLS the spark when the thumb throttle position is at rest and the carburator slides are not in an idle position "sensing a stuck slide condition". This malfuncions commonly when none or part of the TORS system has been removed. Unplugging the TORS brain will eliminate this issue even if the physical TORS system is still intact.
  5. The FMF factory recommended jetting is probably what you need with the closed airbox and snorkel. These restrict air flow a lot and I doubt you would need more fuel then 30/260 but as always a plug chop will tell you the truth.
  6. Unplug the T.O.R.S. Brain, the throttle switch and if it continues it may be a short in the Parking brake wire to cdi. I think its a green wire with a yellow stripe if i remember correctly but if it touches ground it activates a rev limiter/parking brake safety dealio.

  8. So you really dont have a clue if HE needs to richen the pilot or not since you dont even have the same reeds as him anyways?
  9. my stocker did the exact same thing. I was running a 27.5 pilot and the machine ran great untill i installed the vf4. Then it had a dead spot just off idle. I also realised that my FMF pipes call for a 30 pilot so i changed that and the dead spot disapeared.
  10. All the stuff i seen painted by Trish looked Fabulous.. If thats who did paint it...
  11. Fatten the pilot up to 30, common issue with the vf4s, they like a fatter pilot.
  12. Its a snowmo thing i think! seen many snowmobiles with a larger main jet on the pto side carb. but yea fix that keep them the same.
  13. Vitos needles are Red, Slightly thinner and longer then the stock needles. Making them a little richer in the midrange area then stock. As stated already 200 mains with pipes and open filter box is not a large enough main jet and likely your issue. make sure the tors brain was left unplugged after you installed the removal kit.
  14. you didn't mention what you changed the jetting to? This could be useful information if accompanied with a list of your engine mods and air filter style? Usually a maladjusted cable will raise the throttle when you turn the wheel if its too tight. More then likely jetting or an air leak. I would lean more towards an air leak if it is getting increasingly worse.
  15. Assuming you did the typical WoT pull for your plug chop then the main is what is effecting the color of your plug. And that is what you need to bump up at this point in order to dial the main jet in.
  16. Some one capable of measuring the bore would have to tell you that really. it could be slightly oblong/out of round or larger then the other jug.
  17. Probably ran lean on the side with 95. You'll want to figure out what caused it before tear down.
  18. bundyhilloffroad.webs.com/park-rules-information About 15 lines from the bottom "As part of our newly acquired operating permit"
  19. what do you mean by? "the boot on the carb was pulled a little." Was this an air leak? Are you syncing carbs correctly each time you take the caps off of them? making sure that they have enough slack to properly rest on the idle screws, raise evenly and open fully staying even?
  20. In regards to Bundy hill; Now LAST year I was looking at the same webpage and it Clearly stated that they had made some recent changes and are now working with DNR to improve the place and were strictly enforcing the noise ordinance and also checking for spark arrestors. do they still have a noise regulation and require spark arrestors? I was just looking at their website and I couldn't find anything on the topic. I also noticed that they don't require an ORV sticker now. Im speculating but by the fact it states no orv permit required now that they are no longer working with DNR and its back to privately ran? (again I am just speculating any one know?) Am I just missing where it states in the rules the need to stay below a certain Decibel and have spark arrestors? Did they just fail to note that in the rules? Running shearer I.F's on my 4mill and they are loud as hell. I haven't went because I thought my bike would fail the noise test. This and the fact I would like to avoid fucking up shiny silencers with some clamp ons has kept me from checking the place out. Well im pretty sick of the local spots so im going to be hitting some other places this summer. Will shearers pass the noise tests at Silverlake? Do most people with Shearer's change the silencers to a spark arrested one or just use clamp ons?
  21. What do your plugs look like? higher the altitude the richer your a/f mixture will become. I know you said the pipes were turning blue from heat but overheating is also a sign of rich condition. my first thought would be you could probably clean it up a lot by adjusting the a/f screws. more then likely turning them out to add air. Your jetted pretty fat for a non ported engine even at sea level. Personally I would look at my plugs to decide if its lean or rich and if they are colored evenly. If they look as if it is infact running lean I would do a leakdown test. If the plugs look as if it had been running rich I would drop to 290 2nd clip I have a stock piped banshee at about 800ft ASL with 30/300 3rdclip and its pretty rich... at 4000ft ASL and much richer then that seems just way too rich. Rule of thumb is every +1500-2000ft you go 1 jet size smaller.
  22. Tor's brain unplugged and parking brake switch deleted?
  23. Drop down to a 30 pilot. Very doubtfull you would need anything larger with stock carbs. Set air/fuel screws 1.5 out to start with fine adjust these after youve synced your carbs correctly make sure idle screws are set properly so both slides are resting on the idle screw and in sync. Finish syncing your carbs. report back
