  1. i like it but agreed, overpriced. Some people always think they are going to get a return on their investment. In the case of these bikes its far from the truth. Craigslist adds by me are always ridiculously priced. people want $4000-$5000 on a stock bike that is "unmolested" never been worked on. when obviously from the pictures its definately been ridden. Half the times their terms when describing them make it obvious they have no clue what they do or don't have to start with and if i did buy it i would have to basically go through the whole thing anyways. Completely new top end at the least as its 20+ years old and never been "worked on".
  2. if i lived closer i would be all over this..
  3. no problem, need a set of paddles. heavily contemplating these. Wondering how well these would run on a 421 serval.
  4. cool, those questions were posted before you edited it. appreciate the info thank you.
  5. try switching plugs or replacing them. check your intakes, make sure that there is no cracks in them especially the side that's cold. That may be why the slide is sticking, its not getting enough fuel thru your carb to keep the slide lubricated. Had a similar issue, one side wasnt getting warm and ended up being a cracked intake. Once i fixed it the slide was sticking a little and would take a while to come off a rev. I stuck my finger in there and lubed it up with some oil wich helped but it kinda fixed itself once i ran it a few times due to the mix traveling thru the carb and lubing it.
  6. Correct, they are 20x10x8.
  7. thats what outerwears are for. Are the slides sticking? positive the throttle cable is routed well and not in a bind? when you manually sync them, there are windows on the sides of the carbs to do so at about 3/4 throttle.
  8. yes, you would need to remove your basket. when i did mine i couldn't get it to adjust well because the spring on the shift shaft that makes contact with the eccentric screw had grooves worn on either side in it so i bought a good condition used shift shaft assembly. also you adjust it while in gear not in neutral.
  9. when its acting up try pulling the choke out to HALF WAY to see if adding fuel makes it better or worse. may be lean according to sleepers suggestion of 185 main
  10. shift star is a very basic mod they just grind off some of the star points to make it a little easier to shift. That is not exactly a promod tranny but usually part of it
  11. if what star said only changes idle then then there is another adjustment On the tors, where the throttle cables goes into them, there is 2 nuts. You will have to loosen the one closest to the tors block (jam nut) then screw out the one nearest the cable out to adjust the play out of that cable on the carb thats falling behind on open. Do this until both slides move at the same time then re-tighten the jam nut so it doesn't vibrate back out.
  12. promod is when they cut your trans to make it shift easier while still allowing for normal operation and no damage from backloading it. Over ride transmissions which are more geared toward racing you can NOT backload or it can cause damage and bend the shift forks. If you had an override and you were backloading it the shift forks may be bent and that could be whats causing your issue. did your trans shift from nuetral and down or did it have the normal neutral inbetween 1st and 2nd? how many gears did it have?
  13. adjust your ecentric bolt correctly. when mine wasn't adjusted correctly it would hang in between gears
  14. You've been lucky then. Ive dealt with him personally several times as he is local to me. He usually likes to do his business thru email and even when you call him he wont answer his phone which he is very reluctant to give out anyways. usually ends up with a txt reply. Also when i show up his worker calls him at the house, 200ft away , I can hear the rays telling him and he tells the guy where to get the part from and which one and its always one of the poor condition parts at first even though they have 100s of anything to choose from. Then the price quoted is always more and you have to stand your ground to get the original price and a good condition part or he will try and get over on you. Then if there is any issues he will always blame his worker for giving you the wrong item. Very shady business man. basically i use him for a last resort when i need the part that day to ride and i cant get it in a shop without ordering it.
  15. I tried bookmarking it but it just had 0 preferences each time I open it.
  16. http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Block-a-Sellers-Listings-/10000000006694277/g.html If only you could save this preference, you have to do it each time you reopen ebay to do search. I still take the minute to do it anytime im looking for a banshee listing.
  17. yep 1.5 is a good starting point and make sure they are both the same. if you adjust one, adjust the other to the same specs.
  18. ↑ this do a leakdown, if your good figure out what jets you have installed chances are they arent the right ones depending on what mods have been done. ie pipes filters. stock compression depending on your altitude but at 0 asl is around 125-130 lessening as you go up in altitude. at 800ft asl mine was a little over 125 ish with a fresh rebuild on stock engine stock head. Thumb fatigue is definitely the first thing i noticed with these machines. it will go away as you ride more. They do sell extended thumb levers to make it less of an issue but your thumb will strengthen as you ride more. midrange hesitation would most likely be jetting/tuning related. you would have to list what jets and mods including what style filters you run to help pin point the probable cause. the hard starting issue is likely jetting also.
  19. 30 pilot 290-300 mains is my opinion at your altitude should be good all spring and fall and maybe a hair rich in the dead of summer but not enough to effect performance really. I would also add an adjustable timing plate @ +4, it made mine rev a hair faster and have just a tad better throttle response and a little more low end
  20. FMF recommmends this for their pipes, this would be with stock airbox. at 1500 asl with 32:1 mix. (quoting their site) i have banshee with fmfs and run with the lid off +4 timing 800ft asl and i use a 30 pilot 300 mains 3rd clip position. its what my motor likes.
