  1. Sadly i have the same front grill insert still sitting on my bench. It was a gift from my gay ass brother that i never installed lol.
  2. Make sure you do a leak down test and compression test before running it. I do this again after break in and re-torque everything. can never be too carefull and usually compression increases a little after break in. assuming you have no porting done since it wasn't listed? With no lid at all your looking at 300 to 310. 30 pilot and 3rd clip position should still be correct.
  3. Proof! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0FL1AzCAJ8
  4. 300 or 310 will be close if not dead on. Remember that any advice given is just that, Advice. What works for some may not work for others. Its still up to you to determine if that is correct for your engine. Do a plug chop to verify its correct. While it had 300s in it before it was probably very rich at that altitude. Now that your at a much lower altitude it wont be nearly as rich but you want to make sure its not too lean also.
  5. This is true but how many people actually know or take the time to figure out this? If there is none or mild porting done then Cranking compression will pretty closely tell you what type of fuel you need but what you say is absolutely true which is explained in this post i made weeks ago in the race gas topic. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=173487&p=1574856
  6. 25 is the stock pilot and almost never big enough unless your motor is completely stock with the airbox/lid and snorkle on. no pipes nothing. youll need a 30. they go in increments of 2.5 so thats 2 sizes larger then stock. make sure both air fuel screws are the same and around 1.5ish
  7. ↑ This, Needs higher Octane fuel! This will verify what octane you will need to keep it from detonating.
  8. those are not your pilots that say 1.4 i belive those are called the air jet.. The pilots are next to the main jet inside the bowl in the little hole. you need a small flat head to remove them' not as small as the air jet
  9. ya thats fubar'd Have to love non replaceable ball joints... now you need a new arm. Most people don't like to split up a good set for one arm either. might try in the wanted section tho, never know!
  10. probably around 27.5 pilot and 280 to 290 main. in between 1 and1.5 out on airscrews which ever gives the best crisp throttle response
  11. as in stock airbox with full lid and snorkle? Temp?
  12. Lol If i had to guess it would be 30 pilot ( because of pipes and vf4's fmf pipes alone call for 30s on thier site) 270 or 280 mains(would be higher but lid on air box is still on minus snorkle) clip 3rd position. Dont need race fuel with 21cc domes at 700ft ASL its of no benefit except better smelling and cost quite a bit more $$. What was your compression at ?
  13. That's part of the puzzle but still need more. What carbs, temp you will be riding in, any mods done(pipes, porting, air filter style if stock lid on or off)? This info will help get a good estimate.
  14. And the pilots were? slides installed on correct side with the cutaway toward the air filter?
  15. are you sure the slides are not reversed? this was an issue in another thread. slides should have a higher cutaway on the air-filter side then the engine side. when installed reverse it will be hard to start and wont idle or run well. it will be super rich to the point of flooding and fouling plugs.
  16. oh cool, slides were reversed. this will cause some issues for sure. Glad yo got it worked out
