  1. Ha. Just now saw this, thanks d5 . . .although he's actually playing it up seeing as I got irritated enough trying to thread my transmission drain screw back in (or whatever you call it) that I had to take a quick breather and play catch with the dog for a few (I blamed it on 3 hours of sleep the night before, which is true) and it was partly thanks to my $90 eBay skid plate, but still, shouldn't be that tough. All in good time, right? But we did get her up and running, it's the best I've heard the bike sound since this whole project started, so thanks to everyone above for all the help, and needless to say, to d5 for putting in the time/work/storage, really do appreciate it. Alright, enough of that shit and back to work . . . after some discussion this evening, I decided to replace my stock headlamps with either the bullet style lamps + mounting brackets via Trailtech (on Cascade Innovations website) or the Warn 200 Halogen Floodlamps (both 35 watt), what do you all think? Any good or bad experiences with either? Cascade's package comes with all the mounting hardware and what not, Warn's doesn't, so the latter of two would add an additional $55 or so, kind of torn between the two. The Warn 200-H's would match my bike perfect, better than the TrailTech's as they're black with the small red "W" insignia, but with lights I'm more concerned with function over fit or aesthetics, want them to be bright with a wide parameter for Eastern Oregon trail riding. Advice anyone? I also ordered Cascade's THORS elimination kit this evening, as well as their idle screw kit so I can get rid of all that nonsense and clean the top end of the bike up a little. Should be here in less than a week as they're a local company. We also decided that next time I come out we're gonna repack both of my Toomey T5 silencers, remove the OEM tail/brake light all together, and try out the Toomey Hush Kit I bought just for the hell of it. I want the rear light gone anyway, and we're going to fab some aluminum hanger brackets for the Toomey Silencers in order to run the (optional) Hush Kit when needed as the silencers sit too high right now for both. Lastly, and then I'll shut up, I'm looking for a complete set of OEM size Banshee wheels (front and rear) specifically in black. I thought about having my tires dismounted and my OEM wheels powder coated black by PDX Powdercoating, but by the time I pay for all of that and wait for them to be finished, remounted, etc., I might as well have just bought a new set of wheels all together. So if anyone has any ITP/Douglas/Whatever wheels in black, please message me, would definitely be interested. I'll also have a new set of OEM wheels up for sale/trade once I do so, so if anyone is interested in those, let me know. ~cw
  2. Not sure if I would go THAT far, but thanks for the tip, especially on the nerf bars not fucking up the engine. I thought for sure it was either the nerf bars or the tire pressure, or possibly even the rear grab bar, turns out you were right and it was the carburetor after all. I wish you would have dropped by earlier, could have saved us all quite a bit of time and chatter. Good looking out anyway though, and congrats on not being #1 anymore!!! cw
  3. Dave also found a small obstruction in the right side carb, so that could have been adding to the issue along with the smaller pilots. We're planning on installing a set of VForce 3 Reeds here in the next couple days and repacking both silencers, and hopefully after all of that the bike will run like new. Hopefully. Murphy's Law would dictate that as soon as I get it back into my garage from Dave's, it will start having issues again, but I'm really hoping that's not the case. @Joey83 - both plugs are brand new Iridium NGK's, I checked to see if they were fouled or not when I did a compression test on both cylinders (both tested 100%, by the way), and they still looked out of the box new, no carbon deposits or discoloring of any kind. So, to your second point, yes, it was an issue with the right carb, but looks like we've got it figured out. I still PayPal you $1 for getting it right on the carb suggestion, but withholding the other $2 because of my previous point about the plugs.
  4. Ok that image cut and copy didn't work, but what I'm referring to is the see-through, circular red cover on the clutch/water pump side of the bike. Would love to get one in black, but still somewhat translucent. Are those even made?
  5. Somewhat related to the above thread, I keep seeing this on a lot of your bikes, is there anyway to get this exact same cover except in a translucent black instead of translucent red? If so, where do I go about buying one?
  6. At least give me first dibs on buying it all back from you. Will you cut me a deal on labor to reinstall all the parts? I knew this was a bad idea . . .
  7. Well yeah plus this is an "urban Banshee", mainly get's ridden up and down NW 23rd, 24th and 25th avenue in the wee hours of the morning
  8. Also, the clutch side case gasket or seal (if we're talking about the same thing) was just replaced with a brand new OEM one from Lanphere when I installed the new ProDesign Water Impeller and gear. I was very careful when doing it, and gently scraped all the old paper-ish reside off that the old gasket left behind, wiped down with a shop towel and used air to make sure no paper was left behind, and then installed the new clutch gasket and closed her back up. And I don't have gas running out of the bike at all during operation or after shutting her down from idling or running, I've been sure to check each time.
  9. Hey everyone, first just wanted to say thanks to you all for the input and advice to a "newbie" Banshee owner, feel like I've learned quite a bit already. So here's the latest on the bike, if anyone is interested Last night at 1am while getting the bike loaded into the truck for transport to Dave5.0's place in Hubbard, I noticed when shutting the bike down that only the left hand pipe was hot, the right hand pipe was stone cold. Which further supports that it's an issue with right carb, obviously. Dave5.0 said it was likely only running on one cylinder, which actually kind of impressed me cause the bike was still fast as shit, even at half mast. I had thought about the reeds as well last night, and am considering putting on V3 or v4 reeds here soon anyway, basically the very last modification (well, that and a cool head + 22 cc domes) I plan on doing as I have no intent of messing with the engine, wanna leave that be. Do you all think it would be a good idea to install the V3 or V4 reeds? I realize it would have to be (once again) re-jetted after installing, but I've heard great things about the boost in performance they offer. Any advice? So anyway, Dave is gonna take the bike apart at his leisure, repack my silencers (hopefully), and do some other general maintenance on it. I plan on coming back out to his place to both watch/assist so I learn all this on my own. The guys at Power Yamaha did give me a call this morning asking if I was still bringing the bike by, so they at least get a nod for good customer service and follow up even for non-paying work. Lastly, I do really appreciate the offers on the bike sent to me via PM last night and today, very generous, but I'm going to keep the bike for now and see this project through, been through way too much with it to just up and sell it. But if that changes for any reason, I'll be sure to post on BansheeHQ before anything else to give you all first opportunity on it. Responding in a bit to the PM's about parts too, just been a busy Monday. Thanks again, everyone, will be sure to keep the status updated on here, guess we'll find out soon enough what the deal is! Oh, and I did check the tire pressure first thing when I noticed I was having issues with the carbs as I realize they have a direct correlation to one another, even adjusted them from 4.3 to 4.5 PSI, but for whatever reason that didn't fix the problem. But thanks anyway, Skeeter, good lookin' out. cw
  10. Thanks for your input, really appreciate. Timing is at +3. After talking with Dave5.0, agreed to drop the bike off at his shop tomorrow (thanks Dave) and he's gonna give it a thorough look. Found out tonight after loading it up into the 3/4 ton Ford, the bike is only running on one cylinder as the right hand pipe was completely cold to the touch, while the let hand pipe was scalding hot. Called Dave and let him know what was going on right away. Guess we'll find out! Thanks everyone in advance for all your input. Will update as soon as we have it figured. ~cw
  11. Still have it all laying around in my garage, so yeah, guess I would sell it if you're interested.
  12. Yes, I do realize that's an option and has always been an option, but as previously stated, I'm trying to avoid spending an additional $300 or so if at all possible. Aside from Top Dog Racing and Cascade Innovations, what other shops in my area do you recommend I take it to? Top Dog is very expensive as they put the bike on a Dyno to jet it, not to mention they would likely want to pull and clean both carbs again before doing so even though as they sit right now you could eat off of them.
  13. I also got these new ITP wheels and Sand Star Paddles along with the Banshee that I'll sell to someone on here for a very reasonable price (don't mind shipping either) if anyone needs a set. They've never been used, were boxed up along with the bike and I don't ride sand much, more trails and rough terrain. Please feel free to message me if interested and we can figure something out.
