I used the new Dupont color, Shove-it-up-your-ass Brown. Came out nice.

It was just slapping back and forth cause it was loose. Tighten everything up and now no more slap.

I'm not dumb enough to try to paint plastics, I would definitely do some type of vinyl/ I recently came across a website that sells genuine OEM parts so I was considering buying new tank fenders if I can come up with the funds. The noise was the clutch basket, it was slapping causing the knocking noise. I didn't get into the cases cause I figured it out before I got that far, and I've always lived by "if it ain't broke don't fix it" BUT I'm getting parts together to rebuild the motor into new cases asap. I have heeded that many warnings of everyone and I will not bitch if/ when it fucks up. I've put 5 hours on it so far with no out-of-the-ordinary noises. I just like getting feedback, Sometimes people throw in valid points that make me change the way I see things. Isn't that what a forum is for?

Yeah, I'm digging that color more than the red I have now, just don't know what do about my red plastics, the reds wouldn't match Surprisingly I didn't get paint on my hands. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it's disgusting and sounds like a 5 year old came up with it. Like I said before, twice now, I'm only painting these to get an idea before dumping money into powdercoat. If anyone would like to put the funds up for me to powdercoat it until I've made up my mind send me a pm, I'll gladly take your money, until then it's rattle can.

Well i guess I'm done with the painting then. I picked up a full set of mint rims so I'm going to polish them. I don't like the white wheel idea, but I'm gonna paint all the hubs red. Maybe I'll try to find a nice metallic red.

I installed the needle that came with an FMF jet kit I bought, wasn't able to finish my leak down tester because I got the wrong size PVC pipe

My shit was never on the fridge, but I can definitely hold my own with a piece of paper and a pencil. If I go towards the Japanese style banshee the red on there is perfect because it matches the flag well. I could look into something more metallic though.

I mean I'm pretty close to sea level and the humidity is low so maybe it's possible? more air more fuel. I'm going out to test fit my leakdown tester but I won't be able to do it til tomorrow.

On the Merica note, this bike was made the Japanese and it occurred to me that their flag is Red and White so I was thinking maybe I could make this a red and white colored bike as a tribute to the Japs giving us one hell of a machine Maybe get a Japan flag seat cover? maybe some kick ass Japanese style dragon vinyl? I'm just throwing ideas out there what do you guys think?

I'm gonna leak down test it and then I'll mess with the jetting more. I'm gonna pick up some 32.5 anyway and a couple size bigger mains. Leakdown test will reveal all to me tomorrow. Thanks for the help everyone.

Just rebuilt the top end, all new gaskets.

I'm building my leakdown tester tonight, so I'll do that tomorrow and update this. What are some common spots for leaks? Both sides look the same so it'd have to be something that effects both sides.

Needle is on 3rd, fmf needle, main is 280, stock porting. Sorry missed that. It's definitely lean bog, it's almost gone as I turned the pilots in. They were out at 2 turns, sputtered bad in 1 and 2nd, went to 1 turn out, still sputtered in 2nd, all the way in sputters in 3rd.

Here's some 'MERICA! for ya

Fmf fatties, 64.50mm, stock stroke, k&n pods, V force 4, TORS deleted. 400ft above sea level, mid 60s getting warmer. I'm currently at a 30 pilot and that's all the way in, I still have a tad bit of sputter in 3rd right before I hit the main jets. Are 32.5 Pilots too big for stock carbs? Both plugs look exactly the same.

I think they'll wash easily, I'm not really worried about the oil and such, the pipes hide most of the cylinders anyway, only the head is really visible. I did not paint inside where the reed seats if that's what you're asking.

Here's the other side foot peg, brake lever and kicker. I'm gonna do the clutch cover soon either black or red and white scheme. I need to take it off as it is cause it's leaking oil around the gasket. What color do you guys think I should paint it? Black or Red with white clutch plate cover and red lettering?

Like I said before, I'm painting things to get it feel for how it looks, no point in dumping money into PC to have it turn out not to my liking. I'm done with everything I wanted to paint, I'm about to get the pictures ready to put up.
