  1. I'm on the verge of ripping all my hair out, I bought a banshee knowing it was gonna need some work. It had no spark, I replaced the stator and got new spark plug caps but the spark is random, it has nice blue spark sometimes and no spark other times on both plugs too. I have no idea what it could be PLEASE HELP!!
  2. Hello everyone, I purchased a trail tech vapor to wire into my banshee and I was wondering if anyone out there has some tips and/or tricks on how to do so. I know my way around electrical systems so if you have any diagrams or wiring suggestions please let me know, Thanks.
  3. My Banshee is now in full working condition as of last night, the compression test came back fine 105 on the left and 103 on the right. The reason it wouldn't kick start was a bad stator, put the new one in and now I'm getting a wonderful blue spark. When I get home today I'm putting it all back together after and I'm gonna see what it has to offer.
  4. Checked the coil pack, that seems okay. But the spark plug wires seem to be the problem. Going over to the local offroad dealer to see if they have a tester.
  5. I got all the way back to the CDI and realized this wasn't the stock wiring harness. This is a newer one that has the wiring for a brake light. Today I'm going through with a voltmeter and checking everything and hopefully narrowing it down. I'll keep everyone updated.
  6. This is where I am, I recently purchased a 1987 banshee with moose racing slides. The kid said it wouldn't kick start but it would pop start. I did a compression test and it's fine. So I checked for spark, and it has none, but for some reason it will pop start if I get enough speed pushing it downhill. I got into the wiring in it an found that the kill switch wires had been cut but twisted back together. I cleaned them up and heat shrinked them together but I still have no spark. I followed the throttle switch wires and they go no where. I have no idea where to begin with this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  7. I just bought a banshee and I'm going to replace all the fluids in it. I was wondering what oil I should use in the case? what oil and how much should I mix with 93? it's a stock 1987 banshee and what coolant should I use? I might also bleed the brake lines too so what's the best performing brake fluid?
  8. I'll order one tonight, any suggestions of where I should start?
  9. Update: I did get it pop started I have no idea what the jetting is, although I believe it's running way too rich. The choke tube clean is clean. I checked the start which is where I'm puzzled. I got it pop started but when I kick it over I'm not getting any spark at all. Unplugged the TORS system and still no luck
  10. I recently bought a 1987 banshee. The kid I bought it from said it wouldn't kick start but it would pop start. I figured it was just low compression but I just tested it and got 105 psi on the left and 103 psi on the right. The spark plugs were real black when I pulled them out. Any suggestions? The motor is all stock as far as I know but the carburetors have moose racing slides on them.

  12. I definitely have low compression because I can't jump start it. I plan on buying a compression tester later tonight to check it. I have pictures but the files are too big to upload.
  13. Also if anyone has any suggestions of what I should go through and check on the banshee feel free to leave them, I appreciate it.
  14. Hello my name is Troy, I recently found my way into the world of Banshee's and the amazing community here at Bansheehq. Yesterday I purchased my very own banshee, it is a 1987, white and red, mostly stock. The only mod that is obvious to me is what I believe to be Moose racing slides. I am very much so a newb to all this stuff and will often come here from my questions, I currently live outside Albany, New York. Thanks for reading, Troy
