so i have been working on my jetting fo a couple weeks now and have not gotten any where! every time i get to 4th gear it falls on its face started at 340 mains now iam down to 290 adjusted needle clip postion from center now i have it at one leaner than that. 1st thro 3rd runs awsome all the power one would expect. but iam getting weary on dropping in farther than 290 in fear of blowing something. fmf sst pipes open air box with twin k&n filters carbon fiber reeds adjutable timing at plus 3 or so borded 60 over with ufos installed on carbs witch are stock at 840 elevation @ around 90 degrees
not doing any real riding just around the block. i let it warm up try to adjust idel get it to stay running and in descent sound at an idel then run it around the block about 1/4 mile strech and go from there
richer would be larger main jet or move clip on the needles down and or increse your pilot jet size. u would reall need to narrow it down there are some many stages in a carb at what throttle speed do u want to be richer w.o.t 1/4 to 1/8 throttle or 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. wot is mains 1/4 to 3/4 throttle is neele clip placement idle to 1/8 would be pilot
ok so i got tors removed with 30 p in right now about 1 3/4 out put in 25's to see if there could be an improvement on my low end but they also had to be turned out 1 3/4 turn with no sign of differnce. now how could to differnt piloets get thesame outcome? any help or ideas?
your machine is grounded through the exaust chrck them first then try putting spark plug in the boot and reaching it to the frame itself while some one kicks it over. if know spark there your stator is more then likley not grounded propperly or the wire is missed up. another thing you can do is check for continuity through plug wires to ignition coil and there is also a way totest the coil back to the stator. but i dont have my book with me and dont know right off hand
plugs might not show up wet because your mains are good and burn the acsess off during high speeds, the pilot and air fuel mixture are what would control idle to 1/2 throttle actully just before, mains are only from 3/4 to full throttle
to gget good readings on plugs you need to ride wide open through wahtever gear u can make it through while at at high rpms kill it and coast to stop and then check.
mine is bored 60+ with fmf sst carbon fiber reeds stock carbs at about 800 ft and run 290m 30p needle on 2nd up. try a larger drop in your main
so i got some u.f.o's ultimate fuel optimizers from thunder products and was wondering if anyone else has tried them suppose to make engine run cooler increase fuel econemy and add 5 hp to stock banshees. just want to know if anybodys tried them or could give me some feed back on how much you need to change pilots
i would say you are either getting to much fuel or not enough fuel get yourself a 25p and 30's see what work the best. i gotta stock port bord 60 over with the sst's hooked up and am running 30p with 290 m. my only probloem is in high rpms and it backfires every once i awhile think im going to jump up to a 300 also
so i changed mains went to a 310 still ran like shit at high rpms went to a 290 runs pretty good but back fired a couple times not sure if that was due to just emptying the bowl or that i went to far.the pilot is 30. any body know right off hand what back firing would mean?
i have got an 01 stock carbs bored 60 over sst pipes and silencers with boysen carbon fiber reeds open air box with 2 k&n air filters +2 timing and elevaton around 800 trying to get the best setup. not sure what pilot i have running a 320 main clip on fouth notch up from bottom. any ides?
there is a vacuum line coming from clutch going to the crankcase: it has a y in it before it goes to the crank. the hose coming of the y goes where, and if know where is it suppose to be capped or do i need to worry about debris getting in it. i guess i dont understand its purpose
where does the crankcase vacuum hoes run too? bought mine from this guy ,he had a y in it and running to the carbs that was also y'ed to the hose that connects the two carbs together. i dont think this is right
the one in the clutch cover comes out and t's to the one in the back of the case. the open t part just loops up arpound the stem loop OR just route it down behind the motor.
