Banshee's coolant is disappearing!

when you ride it for a while get off and look at the over flow tube iy well spray your arm. as you know when you fill your radiator up to the top that is to much coolant after running it it is going to dispoerse the coolant not needed out of the over flow tube witch will wetting your a arms but the the over flow will or should be at the full mark the amount of presure you create will the engine is hot is going to be lower than it is when you fill it completely while cold obviously. in my excperince the radiator ussually holds about half or 3/4 full with a full overflow pressure test is best option if you thnk its drainging to much i would assume blowing head gasket which willl blow anti frezze out over flow due to the pressure.easy way to take that out of equation fill, ride, let it blow out exsece clean blow out of the a arms, ride little longer check again. if they are still getting wet you are creating pressure into coolant system from more than likley head gasket. but leak down test will give you exact spot. but since you have your head off. easy way to tell your head gasket is broke or leaking look at the pistons they should have nice firing pattren on them if oneis completly clean with no firing mark. gasket is the probleom and the coolant is keeping it clean -
damnit did not mean to send that yet ignition coil primary + to orange or right as you face - to black .28-.38 above or below junk secondary + to spark plug wire - to black or left terminal 4,700- 7,100 all of these to be tested with motor off

ok pickup coil white/red white/green 94-140 higher or lower no good coil green to red 13.7-20.5 out side of those junk

will i dont have m manual sitting in my lap or near me at the moment but im pretty sure coil should not test over .560 not below 42 but i cant remember i will get actual number to you tomorrow and the stator can be good but the pickup could be bad which sends the electricty to rest of the body. the gap between the stator and the pickup needs to be .020

pipes and k&n air filter usually require jets to be bumped up but this something you should do sfter put bck together. check see what you have for jets right now let the ppl know tell us your elevation and we will try to help you out. riding with inapropiate jetting will piss you off after a fresh rebuild

the crossover tube is not the choke tube! its the tube that connects both carb boots most ppl put dumb ass boost bottles on they do jack the oem pipe is better my opioning. amother reason could and most likley has to do with your air fuel mixture needle and you pilot jet. what can u tell has been done to your shee? take apart your carbs again see what size your pilot is report back also tell us your elevation and temp you are tryimg to run it at. need to know open air box no air box oem air box pipes other than stock did previous owner bore it what size pistons u running all these things change what your jets need. and worse of all you run into many ppl who think if they are master mechanics and change jets with little or no idea to what they actully did. wiyh this still do not forget to do leakdown test because attempting to jet is pointless if your engine is not air tight

whats ussual cost for replating? so u allways run same size piston in these and either have to clean or replate cyl?

do most mechaine shops do replating or do you have to send out to specail places. do they hold up better than normal cylinders?

as i understand these come at 68mm from factory. my question is how many bores do u get out of these and/or what mm can u go up to before resleeving is nessacry?

guees i dint awnser the rest of ur ? it is an idel screw have to adjust while running farther in higher idel out slower idel lock nut obviosly to hold to set.

um i dont have any porting done

so iam @ max bore for stock cylinders, so my real question is next it would be either resleeve ot buy new jugs. these things dont particulay interest me as much as going to big bore kit or getting into something cooler like some of things ppl on here are running like 421 sevrals or the cubs and so forthe. what i am lacking is the knowledge of these upgrades. if someone could school me on these like what mods are required and roughly what the cost would be to do i would apprecate it. on not just what i mentioned above but if youve done it to yours let me know, i have no idea what im going to end up shooting for just looking for ideas and price tags per hp and fun u could say. i dont drag bascilly all trail riding lil hill climbs. thanks

i agree with last post i have ssts bored 60 over kn airfilters open boxe +2 timing @ 800 ft run 30p 270 in summer 280 right now 320 sounds crazy high. put the 320s in and ill say with 90 precent probabilty you will not hit the power band through 4th gear

boost bottles are going to make you go through boots every 15 hours of riding at 35 dollars a peice go get the oem crossove pipe. also check your reeds while you are fixing your boots a bad or broken reed will cause simalir issues
