send it out. it will be reliable with the right tune. might want some diffrent pipes and carbs. call a few builders and ask questions they will lead u in the right direction.

if it was me i would save up and get it all done at once. add porting then the stock crank will blow and u will be back to square one..if u go ahead and get it ported for a stock stroke. let them know u wanna 4mill later. who ever ports it will have to re port it for the 4mill.
