Good start, It's just that we've had guys on here that "didn't touch nothing" and 3or 4 pages later find that they had the carb tops off and switched slides...
AGAIN - the ground wire where it connects to the stator and where it splits in the harness to be corroded and making poor continuity, but if the switch is cut, THAT could be it! SMH
A few guys on here lately found the ground wire where it connects to the stator and where it splits in the harness to be corroded and making poor continuity. (to be included with what Larry's saying) something else to check on a bike that has been sitting.
You did OK on the price, to bad it burnt down on you...Did your dealership at least sound like they knew what they were doing on a Banshee? they REALLY have to do a leak down before and after they take it apart to see what caused the problem. Where are you located?
Sounds like it came with just enough goodies that your dealership mechanics will be useless. (any of the ones I have dealt with anyway) They will want to replace parts will original Yamaha stuff. (Not good for your application) Parts prices and labor rates alone would make it better off for you to get it back, take the motor out and send it to a site sponsor here. They can look at your porting and tell you if it is set up for the kind of riding you will be doing, and recommend crank work (welding) or replacement. Guaranteed it would be a better deal for you for sure. My 2cents.
Sounds like it to me, that's the first I'd replace. Maybe the seat too. Does it overflow the carbs out the vent hoses, not running but with the gas "on" ?
yeah just put one in mine, about 10 rides later it backed out. I hope that I noticed it soon enough and didn't lean out and damage anything. One of those things you don't want to tighten and strip the brass or the carb, but sure don't want it falling out either.
That set went out the gate last Wednesday, and brought plenty, he's not relisted any as of yet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330931865710?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
