Pull a spark plug, stick it in the boot, hold it's metal part on the engine's metal, kick, look for a bright blue spark. Helps to be in a room with little light.

Look around the radiator for a harness with a jumped wire, will be heavy gauge black to red /black stripe.
That will be the key switch that was by-passed ---good place to look first
