Drained and sitting dry (or just sitting) for extended periods of time is hard on seals. A 2 stroke depends on it's crank seals especially to run properly. VERY IMPORTANT. Other seals will only leak oil on the ground but bad crank seals will cost you an engine.
Depending on the year, It could have a park brake rev limiter, although it usually comes on sooner than that. Look for a green/yellow wire at the CDI and cut it and tape it off.
^^That. The only things useful in a kit is the bowl gasket and 99.9% of the time re-use is no problem. And the needle valve and seat. Inspect your needle valve tip for any little bit of a wear ring. (you can get those separately)
I'm gonna say you just have to have a wire somewhere grounding out when it nosedives hitting the front brake. Check the orange wire on the coil for bare spots too.
My daughter-in-law is in her second year of nursing school. The struggle is real. You and your wife deserve fun some time off, and this is it. I have the most deepest respect for anyone entering that field.
HaHa, I don't even have 2 into 1, I've never had one, I never will have one and I've inadvertently read enough on here that I could tell you how to tune it. LMAO
