  7. So how did the 2nd gear launch on the dmx work?
  8. that exhaust was a set of inframes cut up to try out for a lil while. my brother was supposed to have a custom exhaust built but ended up abandoning that project. it actually ran and drove just fine like that but looked retarded.
  9. We're about ready. The redline 18mm went 4.00 at 80mph Saturday.just need to make it work in the sand and it should be competitive.
  10. Agree with the guys above, most likely didn't get the pressure plate lined up on the splines correctly.
  11. make sure no stator cover bolts have backed out and hit the shifter itself first. then your going to have to remove the clutch cover to check the shift shaft, star etc
  12. just put it all together, do the normal tests for a new motor and go. Kan has pretty good reputation so it should be good to go. what sprinklerman is saying is 100% correct, pictures tell us far too little about porting. you would have to degree the motor and know what angles/heights/shapes everything is at for us to tell you much.
  13. garrett thompson of gt chassis, not moore
  14. crank works told me the same thing and they dont offer a forged one anymore due to too many failures.
  15. chris told me in kansas they were going to make another run of cheetah cylinders when he seen that was what i was using. he didnt say anything about any other cylinder though so like n20 said your best bet would be a call to him. i wanted to talk with him more but garret moore of gt chassis was trying to get his turbo bike to make some good passes so i was busy checking that thing out.
  16. i agree with n20 on the topic of square motors. ive been spending more and more time around track racing and for whatever reason the square ones dont run near as impressive as they should. several different theories from volume of air moved in relation to bore size vs stroke, crank case volume or transfer design/size/shape, they dont seem to work well. you can talk on for days about about moto gp did this and that, when your done we will simply tell you they didnt do it with a banshee engine. dont get me wrong, sometimes traditional wisdom is more tradition than wisdom but guys far smarter than us are still trying to get them to work. tim bond is still playing with toroid domes so its not like guys have just given up on making more power with banshees. for the money spent, if i was starting out fresh i would build a super between 10 and 14 stroke. wouldnt worry one bit about the intake choking it. currie motorsports set the 426-525cc limited record with a super and now is opening the bore up to go after the 526-650 limted class. that means they are making power and have a perfect setup. can you even use 130+ hp?
  17. how thin are you guys running your clutch fibers before throwing them away?
  18. Does it matter at all if a person is using all 6, or just 3 springs as long as the base pressure is correct?
  19. if its lined up right it wont throw the chain. i use a chariot chain tensioner on mine with a +14 swingarm and its never thrown a chain. its been 4.12 @76 in 300 ft with a 18dm and 4.13 at 75.48 with a 10mm cheetah. never once threw the chain.
  20. when your adjusting the float, did you check the float height where it just touched the needle or when it was actually pressing it closed?
  21. I never put oil in them for people. I do let them know that I don't ahead of time though.
