Stripped footpeg insert in frame Help!
rjayb replied to Green95LX's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Anyone have a copy of the pics with the dimensions. Looks like they have been deleted from the thread. Thanks. -
Anyone running the Elka linkage with a longer shock made by a different manufacturer or is it a proprietary combination? I called and talked with Wayne at PEP and he didn't have any specs on building a shock for that link. I Like the idea of more travel but not interested in running an Elka shock. Curious if anyone has had one built.

I went and looked at one at the showroom a while back. Bottom cradle is steel so fab would be no more of an issue than the yfz's that have been done. It wouldn't be cheap but LED could make some in frames that would bolt right up. It's just a waiting game for me. Mass part outs aren't far off. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I think a banshee motor in a donor yfzr as soon as a lot of them start hitting the part out cycle would be a solid build. You could accommodate for most of the forward center of gravity difference of the 350 motor with a little increased ride height. Maybe instead of 1/4" taller up front, go 3/4" Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Not sure why you would go to all this work and use a banshee oem rear. It's not all about travel. Leverage ratios of the linkage play a huge role in the performance. Banshee geo is very limited in this department Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

LSR was cool with doing 3 frames minimum but it seemed everyone wanted an updated yfzr version. Would be nice if they would at least update for better pipe and carb intake choices on the 250 geo. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Chrome or black wheels? Whats a popular wheel/tire combo?

How big are you planning to go? I'd gusset the frame and proactively redo the peg mounts. I've ripped pegs out of the frame and broke one in half on jumps under 90' Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

One of the first test laps. Not letting off the throttle a split second to late. Not a very big sweet spot with all that power. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

Look at pic above. Nose is above center. If anything it likes to loop out. Mines 97hp. When the front tires leave the ground and you have that extra contact time with the rears being further back, it can get dicey if you don't play nice with the throttle. I only ride the banshee at my place. Mainly a duner and isn't public track legal without nerfs. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

You're going to mx a 10 super serval? I'm 6'4 230 and ride my 421 serval on the track. With a +4 it's a handful. Not saying you can't do a 105+ HP bike on a stock length but it might be interesting. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

My commitment to mx racing is so minor that I hired an AMA operator to build a track with replica features on a piece of land I own. This is before I got to know DDQ. In hindsight, I should have pushed all that dirt into one giant hill, added a little baby double or step up and everyone would be begging to come ride at my place. It's almost January so while everyone is trying to watch hill climbing on TV all the major networks will be pulling their usual BS and only showing supercross and arena cross. Hard telling not knowing. Steves main rental shop is right there already. He's only owned box car hill cg for maybe a year at most. That's when the rates doubled. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I made a post today about an issue with some screws coming out of a Mattoon lock out. This bike has had a few other issues with screws and bolts coming loose. Frame, mounts and plastic fasteners and recently the intake bolts have been wanting to back out. I attributed a lot of this to riding more mx since I built my track earlier this summer. Talking with Cam, he feels there might be a harmonic issue somewhere in the motor that's causing this. I made the earlier post before this conversation and want to clarify that I wasn't trying to slam Mattoon's product and hadn't considered this harmonic issue as a potential cause. More or less wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this.
