I'm not sure. Does the machine make A/C voltage or is it a DC voltage? Will any non battery grip work on banshee?

Best northern WisConsin riding
turbowrenchhead replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Riding and Events Forum
No iron content in the soil at all. Mostly hard top soil on the trails with a mix of grated gravel and sand in places. -
For those that are looking to ride in WI the east side of Lincoln county and the west side of Langlade county have by far been the best trails I've experience in WI and MI. We had a ground of 8 on this trip. I found this cabin on the internet for $150 a night. Its 3-4 miles from the dirt trails. The cabin is built on a peninsula of a crystal clear lake. The cabin was built in the early 1900's and has been well taken care of. It sleeps up to 10 people. There is heat, hot water, shower and a outhouse. Last Saturday we planned our route to go to a bar/restaurant in Harrison. This is also where the closest gas station is as well. After a couple minor crashes we made it there. We ate and filled up and head back. We did 78 miles on hard trails. There is lots of hilly terrain with several water damns to keep the trail from washing out. They are basically large jumps. Everyone had a blast this past weekend. So if your looking for some challenging trail riding this is the place to go. I've been to this area 4 times in the past 2 years and I plan on going back again.

Need a UNI 2 with pre filters for stock carbs
turbowrenchhead replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
They are real K&N's. I properly cleaned them and oiled them. I called my builder this morning and discussed it with him and he agrees that K&N's don't filter fine dust and will eat up a motor in time. He said they only use them in Arenas or no dust conditions. -

Did some more digging. Now to find pre filters that fit them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNI-2-Stage-Pod-Filter-Angled-6-Inch-1-3-4-IN-44MM-ID-UP-6182AST-UP6182AST-/390906051041?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5b03d0f9e1&vxp=mtr -

Yeah I have prefilters on them. -
I was at the track yesterday and it was really dusty. I only followed a few bikes for a short while. I was talking to a guy about K&N's and he said they don't filter fine dust. I pulled one off my bike and he put his finger inside, curled it and wiped it. Sure enough it was dirty. I was looking on ebay for some uni's for banshee but they are shorter and no pre filters. Where can I get a set that's at least 6" long with outwears?

Gearing up for next ride
turbowrenchhead replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Chain roller came in today, thank god. Got it on and got the Blaster ready for the dyno. Cleaned up the banshee and got them both on the trailer and ready for tomorrow at IPS -
Perhaps its loaded up. I've had that happen before if I let it idle for a bit, it will bog when you hit the throttle.

I dumped the last women that gave me a hard time about spending $ on my quads and going on trips. Now I gots me one that loves to ride. When she sees me pulling an engine apart she thinks its HOT! I've been with this one for almost a year now and we haven't got to go on a ride together alone. Finally next weekend we are going to northern wi for some riding.

The cut out of the slide faces the air filter side of the carb or the inlet of the carb.
-
Add a craftsman compression tester to that. Always compression test and leak down test after any motor work.

Try Mytracks. Free download and works great. Gives you a ton of info. -
Remove the pilot and spray brake cleaner or carb cleaner into the hole and make sure you have flow. Then run compressed air through the circuit. I would just remove the main, pilot and air mixture screw and go through all circuits. Set your air mixture 2 turns out from all the way tight.

To sync carbs you want to use a drill bit under the slide when in the idle position. Raise your idle screw up till it idles then match the slides to the same gap.

Gearing up for next ride

Update. Blaster motor in and running! Got the banshee calipers & master today, waiting on the spindles and +3 lines. Already had a spare set of rotor/hubs. Painted those up to match the blaster frame tonight. I found that the chain roller bearing is pretty much gone. Can I run a chain with no chain roller temporarily? Banshee is ready to go for a ride on the trailer to IPS. -

I don't think he would appreciate me posting pics of his porting. -
Gearing up for next ride

No question mark. He is two hours from me. Last year when I was there I was impressed with him. It was money well spent on the dyno and the couple of custom pieces he made for me. Jay is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable. He taught me a few things that day. He's been working on a custom piston for banshee's. He has had some really good results with them and he talked me into going with this design. I sent him my complete bottom end for him to tear down and he's putting the new motor completely back together so I won't see the porting until I have an issue. Hopefully that won't be for a long time. -

It is Illinois power sports. He dynoed my Banshee last year. He had a lot of input on the build compared to the other builders I talked too. Plus he's only a two hour drive away? -
This spring I went on a big ride with 10 other guys. I let a friend borrow my blaster. The chain came off and took out the shifter housing. Case done! That one was trenched for a +4 crank. So I found a set of good cases and sent out both bottom ends. Motors back but still waiting on a misc part to get it together. I have front hydraulic brakes coming for it to so my gf can stop easy. The banshee on the big ride didn't have any bottom end in it due to my DIY porting. I got to the point that I'm sick of trying to do it myself and always have an issue while my friends are out riding. So another set of cases and virgin cylinders got sent out to a builder. I hoping to get close to 70HP to the wheels. The IMS 4 gallon tank is on its way. Hopefully that will solve some of the fuel issues I have out in the middle of the woods. Next weekend I'm taking the shee and the blaster down there. Putting the motor in the shee and having it dynoed and the blaster as well just to be safe. I've got a ride planned with the gf in two weeks. I hope everything comes together! I've been working my ass off to pay for the expenses. Going to cost $3500 for the repairs and trip. Yikes! You could buy a real nice 4 poke for that right? But whats the fun in that.
