  1. That much I know. Smaller the dome, the higher the compression, the higher octane needed. Noss has several size cc domes available, how does a custom have an advantage over the precut domes?
  2. Its easier to ask the guys that already know what changes with what then to take several hours on a parts fiche to see what numbers have change and that still doesn't tell you what will interchange with what. Just because I don't know everything about everything doesn't mean I won't get you the right part shipped to you promptly.
  3. I bought a used noss head with 22cc domes. One is beaten up and needs replacing. I would like to ask what cc dome would you guys suggest for my combination. Its a stock trued and welded crank. stage 3 ported stock cylinder and 65 mm cast pistons. Going to run FMF fattys, either rejetted stock carbs or a 2-1 35mm pwk. I have a timing advance bracket, probably start with 4 degrees. I will be using it for intense trail riding. I like to ride hard and keep the rpm's high. Our sea level is 600 ft. I am looking to run pump gas, being 93 octane when its available. Sometimes in very rural areas you get stuck with either 87 or 91 if your lucky with no ethanol. My only other option is to use a octane booster but I don't know if there is anything on the market that actually works. I appreciate the info.
  4. I am planning on replacing the 25 year old wire harness on my 87. I notice that not all years have the same wire harness or CDI's. Are there any CDI's available that have a veritable progressive timing advance with rpm increase? What are the better stock set-ups? If I buy an 06 wire harness what year CDI's are compatible with it? Does the stator have to be changed over to? Up to what year harness would be the same as my 87's?
  5. I can save you a few bucks on the more expensive parts. Small dollar items the shipping would offset the cost. Contact me at turbowrenchhead@yahoo.com with a part number or description on what you need. I can get Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Can Am & Polaris OEM new dealer parts. FOR EXAMPLE: Banshee Crankcase #2GU-15100-01-00 is $640.90 after Wisconsin sales tax of 5.6%. Though me $525 shipped to your door.
  6. I found the frame on here. I did a search for frame in the for sale section. Found a guy in Ohio that had a powder coated red but faded frame. Shipped it via greyhound.
  7. I'm shooting for 65-70 HP. I don't know how to measure my degrees. I did this from copying other port jobs out there and did much reading up. I still have to assembly my bottom end so I can see how close my ring lands get to the port. Hopefully they are not to close. If they are then I'll chalk them up as practice.
  8. Here is a pic of my DIY intake port job. This is the rough cut, still have to go in and polish
  9. Its an 87 so they are white with red decals. I will probably have the jugs painted the same color with a nice shinny noss head on top.
  10. The bottom end is ready to be put back together. I've got a trued and welded crank from Kevin Herr. Billet waterpump gear and shaft. Got the pancake bearing for the clutch. Just need to find time to assemble it back together.
  11. Found this frame for $170 shipped. Cost me $75 to get it painted bright red. The process continues. Hopefully it will be done next riding season. I want to do it right so its gonna take time.
  12. 1993 A Arm frame with a valid VIN. Paid $170 shipped. Cost me $75 for the paint job. Need I say more?
  13. I found a nice set of +2+1 arms for blaster for cheap. Do they fit the banshee? My frame is gone to the paint shop so I can't measure it.
  14. Shoot me a pm with what you have and what your asking. I'm looking for either chrome, red, white or clear coated.
  15. I'm getting close to having to decide what kind of pistons to run. Looking for ppl's input. I have my jugs ported to make at least 65 hp. I'm going to run a noss head with probably a 21cc dome for pump gas. Cast pistons don't expand as fast as forged so I'm leaning towards a cast piston.
  16. So I should look for 4x115 bolt pattern wheels because they are more common and therefore cheaper right.
  17. I'm browsing ebay looking for a decent set of 10x9 offset rims. Some are advertising a 4x115 and saying its for banshee and some are advertising 4x156. Were the 87-90's a smaller bolt pattern? I know that my blaster was a 4x110 and I went to banshee hubs and wheels.
  18. Man, either ppl hate them or love them. Strange!
  19. So my buddy got his hands on a 01 DS 650 (with a Ron Woods performance package on it including the intake) that didn't run. We tore it down and found bad valves to be the problem. As I was helping him I notice his intake is the same kind of style as the banshee 2-1. The DS is a single cylinder but they have separate ports. I noticed how the intake has a knife edge to increase maximum flow. The intake that I just bought off of a member on this board does not have a knife edge and its more rounded. I'm thinking that I'm going to modify it so it looks like the ds performance intake. What are you thoughts?
