  1. What about skids for YFZ 450. Arms on those look very similar.
  2. I would assume most a arm skids are for stock a arms. Are there any available that will fit a +3?
  3. Excellent, thanks for the link. Its on my watch list now. How about for full skids? Same company?
  4. I have done a little research for a decent rear skid plate. I can find three choices so far DG, Moose, and AC. Moose and AC had terrible reviews on the holes not lining up. I couldn't find any reviews on the DG plate. I'm looking for one that will cover the rear shock bracket.
  5. I pulled the tires of my bike to find that rims have several issues. I'm looking for straight set of front rims. I'm painting them black so they can have cosmetic issues, don't care. Just need them straight. Either email me at turbowrenchhead@yahoo.com or text me at 414-418-8550
  6. I sold a bunch of parts from other quads so now I have all 4 tires, oversized radiator, coolant hoses and six pack rack on the way. It will soon be ready for spring riding.
  7. I realize that but I don't think overheating will be an issue when its 18 degrees out. I'm just happy that its not too lean and fry my pistons right off the bat. Now I can work down from the rich side. My blaster was the opposite. I jetted it by input of the builder and board members. My needle was way off lean. I had multi point seizers a few times and went through 2 pistons within a couple months.
  8. I don't know how much longer we will be able to go out on the ice this yet. The weather has been so up and down. Yesterday it was 45 and sunny. Today its 15 with a stiff wind. I pulled my plugs today and they are black, so I know I'm not lean, thats good in my eyes.
  9. I have it jetted by the input I got on this board. I have to do a proper plug chop yet. I don't have access to somewhere that I can do that. I have to wait till we go on an atv trip up north.
  10. I got it out on Sunday for a couple of hours. There wasn't enough tread to run ice screws so I didn't bother. I went out with 3 of my friends and there 4 strokes. It was 18 degrees out and none of there bikes started. Mine did, and I pull started the first guy to get them going. Traction on the lake sucked. The bike hits the power band and spins like crazy. It was too hard to tell how it was performing. I ran it for maybe a total of an hour just to get some time on it. We did ride on a couple of islands so I was able to feel how it rode and it rode really nice. When I got home I did a small street run up to 3rd gear and let off. I don't want to piss off my neighbors. Its boggy till the power band comes on, when it does it pulls really hard, feels like a turbo kicking in.
  11. Today I will see how my DIY port job performs. I have a chance to take it out on the frozen lake.
  12. Today I will see how it performs. I'm taking it out on the ice today along with some main jets.
  13. After 10 months of parts gathering and repairs I finally got to ride it. I only went down my street a couple hundred feet but it felt great. When it hit the power band the front end started coming up. It spun the tires loose while moving in second. I thought that was pretty cool. My blaster cant do that. It pulled to right so I made some adjustments and it feels real nice so far. Next I have to find a spot to do a WOT plug chop. Not easy in the city.
  14. Done the road I will probably buy a nice set of ported cylinders done by a professional when I can afford it. For now I am in a scramble to get the bike trail ready by spring so I can test and tune and have it to ride in west virgina this coming July.
  15. I used a pneumatic die grinder with a variety of carbide bits. I didn't change the transfer ports just cleaned them up. I opened up the intake and exhaust with the race logic templets and then I added boost ports. I had my blaster cylinder done by KOR so I had that as a reference. I had read several articles and seen several pics on ported cylinders. I probably spent 10 hours on my cylinders. The time that was spent on them was spare time that I had in between a job or cancellation. Its not like I can chose to make $50/hr 8 hours a day 5 days a week. When you have to rely on the public to show up its a crap shot. Many don't show or call. Some are late and then it throws the rest of the day off. It wasn't hard to port it. I have done several automotive heads in the past with good results, I don't see why this is any different.
  16. $500 gets me several other parts I need to resurrect this 87 model. I'm sure my port job will be faster then stock. Its funny how guys with money look down on those who don't.
  17. Thats too bad. I had a great experience with KOR. My KOR stock ported cylinder kept up with a raptor 660 till I got to sixth gear. Its also to bad that when ever someone wants to talk about DIY porting they are slammed for doing it. It doesn't bother me. Unlike most guys on this board I don't have unlimited funds to spend on my toy. I have bills, wife and kids to pay for first.

  19. Well see I'm a mechanic of 20 years and I already have all the porting tools. I'm not afraid of doing port work to my machine. Its worth my time to spend 10 hours on a pair of cylinder so I can drastically increase the HP

  21. So these should work for me http://www.ebay.com/itm/330865129797?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
