  1. So I got a response back from the Brandon who is Lazarus's son. This is what he had to say. Not sure what #4 has to do with anything......Pretty sure I'm not getting any kind of refund for botching my shock. 1. my parents were killed in a plane crash and Gtthunder is closed! 2. when rebound on a rear shock is set it does not need adjusted. Having adjustable rebound is cool but not needed. (I finished on the podium at GNCC races in the pro class with non rebound adjustable shocks.) 3. if your going to accuse people of things you better know what your talking about. 4. u ride a banshee!
  2. I wrote to the company about my complaints. I doubt I'll hear back from them
  3. Just got off the phone with Richard. GT really screwed up my original shock. The replaced the stock shaft with a non adjustable shaft. They had a spring in it that was way to heavy and to long. He doesn't even want to rebuild this one. I had to buy another used one and have it shipped to him.
  4. Yeah, your a ways away. I see that you're close to Tomahawk. Have you tried the trails east of there? That is my favorite spot to ride in WI so far. I found a 30 mile loop that has 50-60 jumps trough out it. Some of the jumps are 6-7' high. When you get tired of those then go to the parish trails. Those are smooth and groomed for high speed drifting.
  5. I hear ya. I posted last year asking questions about DYI porting. Wow what a bunch of rude comments I got. Well I didn't listen and ported my own cylinder. I did the exhuast, intake and added boysens. My job got my 58HP on the dyno.
  6. Its now on its way to Richard. I hope he does me a solid.
  7. It clicked the last time I adjusted it. When I checked to see where the knobs where at for Richard is when I discovered that the rebound wasn't clicking. When I had the compression and rebound on lighter settings the back end was all over the place. It performed the best with them all the way in. I couldn't get any kind of customer service from GT when I called them asking for advice. I was still learning about adjustable shocks.
  8. I tried several different settings on the compression and rebound. It performed best with them all the way in. And yes I understand what a shock is "suppose" to do.
  9. I talked to Richard today for about 20 mins. He was very informative and great to talk to. He had me do some measurements while on the phone with him and he concluded that there is something wrong with the shock. The rebound knob doesn't click when you turn it. So right there it needs attention. I'll be sending it out just as soon as I can get it off the bike.
  10. I weigh 200 pds. If I lost more weight I wouldn't look like much.
  11. I want a higher ride height because the rear is very saggy when I sit on it. I can't raise it up with the collar because there is a 500 pd spring in it now and its way to stiff with it in the longest setting.
  12. So last year I went 3 rounds with GT Thunder with my rear shock. I did there spec sheet and was very specific that I wanted a higher stance in the rear. They sent it back with over a $300 bill and said that the original shaft was bent which was probably a line of bs. It looked like a low rider with me sitting on it. Long story short. I sent it back twice and all they did was put a heavier and then heavier spring in it. Now there is a 500 pound spring it it. Its horrible on washboards. I've adjusted the settings for the best ride and it still sucks! I tell them its still not right they say that I need a longer shaft. I was new to this and I had no idea. Why wouldn't they bring that up in the first place is my question? So I'm real put off GT Thunder..... I have a ride in 2 weeks and I want to get the rear shock right before I go. I'll be riding with some fast sport quads and I want it to ride nice. Any suggestions guys?
  13. Elka or works is not in the budget. I'm sure one of their shocks will run over $500

  15. Write it down on the calendar. I had a CDI go bad. The new one cured the hard starting and the key shut off.
  16. So it was my CDI that was giving me issues at the badlands. I got a new one today and it starts on the first kick now.
  17. I ordered a new oem cdi. No wire cutting needed.
  18. I would rather have the connectors the same with out swapping to the newer style. When you cut and patch wires it never seems to last. If anything I'll just buy the NOS OEM one I found. I've already spent over $750 this spring on repairs/upgrades, whats another $200 right.
