What ignition options are there for a triple banshee if you don't want to run a battery?

Anyone have a rz350 drag bike running 1/8th? Think it'd be fun to build a chassis to throw the banshee motor in when it's not in the sand

421 go 30's on the bottle*, a 421 can make well beyond the power a n/a 18mm can. I'm sure the 5.7 is legit

He was saying specifically all motor. If a 18mm dm can go 30's on motor, why couldn't a 421 on the bottle?

I know, supposedly it had a shitty 60 too and was shooting for 5.6's. Saw it on planetsand. Don't know shit about asphalt but by comparing to other bikes it is moving

You bet. What motor you running? He also said the same comparison was around 10hp on a 421. So it could be different for other size motors.

From shearer, 4-5hp gain going to oof vs inframe once you change dome spec and ex shape on a 392 cub.

I didn't compare the two. I was telling the guy that the 4mm that is making 200hp is a turbo... Guess it's only really fair to compare old gp motorcycles since they are the top tier of two strokes not banshees unfortunately. Wish we could get our hands on the old v4 500 that was making 200hp at the wheels. Not sure if the pro stock numbers are crank or the wheels.

And I understand a 421 cub is right at the same ratio. But that efficiency goes down as displacement goes up. So I don't think a banshee based engine would be any better then 350 at 1600. That's why I started this thread.

Who mentioned a 200hp 421?... If that was directed towards me, I said 4 cylinder, not 4 mill banshee. As in the 4 cylinder cougar banshee that a few people had that were in the 1600cc range. Hence the reason for the comparison. As for the other math you did that was actually correct, even that is comparable to two stroke numbers. Just didn't get it is all, r&d I guess. Nsr500 made 200+ hp on gas so I guess enough money can get you there.

I been reading up about pro stock motorcycles last night and seen the they use 1500-1650ish cc 4 cylinder motors (4stroke obviously) and they are putting out around 350 horsepower on gas. Now I'm not sure if this is at the crank or wheels but sill... And they rev up to 15,000. How is this possible? Why can't even little banshees rev this high? And that's crazy power for the displacement, even on gas. I'm not sure what dyno numbers the 4 cylinder banshees put down but they couldn't have been much more then that, and that's on alcohol. So what am I missing here. Thought two strokes were unbeatable vs 4 stroke with the same displacement. Discuss

Depending on how heavy you and the bike are. I was probably 100 pounds when I rode that thing when I was 13ish. Give you some idea. 99hp on his dyno, probably 430-450 rider / bike combo

I have ran a 7mm stock cylinder ported by redline on alcohol, override, ect. It had a +8 with 12 paddles. Oregon sand, it'd lift real hard right at launch but after a quick release of the throttle you could get right back on it for the rest of the run. 300+lb bike. I'm sure 10's would be fine on gas.

I couldn't find any information what so ever on someone doing this in any form of race engine. Be fun to try on a test motor, cheap 350 or a single of some kind. Methanol/nitro/propylene oxide in the main tank spraying a huge shot with c23 (or something similar)/ nitropropane. Imagine the complexity of tuning that thing. Running 6 different fuels at once lol

Yes. They were both posted tho because people aren't constantly saying don't do it, and aluminum stocks are going to rise or Obama care and shit. If he wants to try he needs help not stupid humor, and these threads will work better for his goals
