im gonna respond to this as it is a serious post..if you are serious about drifting and stunting with a banshee then keep it a banshee!! yeh sure the rocket motors make good power... but so does a good tuned banshee motor!! id say 10mil serval is the way to go!! lot of hp and tq without the hundreds of extra unwanted pounds of the inline 4! besides it is real hard to do a clean banshee streetbike conversion! think about it.. with what you are trying to accomplish its all about power to weight ratio! you want something light and nibble with power! the only thing that those inline 4s offer is power! do a shmerval and find some hard compound tires.. it will be a blast!

most of my buddies never cut the threads off when they do there "plug chop"(they are cheap fucks haha) i have no problem seeing the smoke ring with the thread on, but i cut threads to get a better visual!! there is no question, the proper way is to cut the threads to best read the plugs.. but if you have good eye sight you should be able to see the smoke ring with the threads on!
-
if you look down towards the bottom of the plug and you see no color change the last thing id do is find a longer straight away! i agree 4th gear pulls are kinda short, but it should be long enough to see some color change! i always kill it in 6th wot!

k&n's are junk in my opinion!! i have had no luck with them what so ever!! my carb slides were alway dirty with k&N filters!! and yes i cleaned and oiled them properly. i just switched to uni filters!!

when i painted my old wheels that already had been painted by previous owner i used brake fluid that i put in a spray bottle and sprayed them up really well..left it soak for couple hours and most of the paint peeled off..whatever was left i used a red pad on. just make sure if you do this you get all of the brake fluid off before you repaint!!

i have a 4 mil stock cylinder dune/play port with boost ports, cases ported, 21cc domes, straight cuts, vforce 3, pwk 35s, +4 timing, t5s, 6"pods.(motor was built by F.A.S.T. RACING). i love the power curve that this package produces, power through out the whole curve. i do alot of hill climbs and trail ride. i love the way i can get in and out of the throttle on the hills and how it comes right back on the pipe, where i think that a cub cylinder is more of a light switch kinda power.. i ride with alot of people with all different setups from cheetas, cubs, servals. as far as performance between them all its really hard to say.. by no means do i have the most powerful bike out of the group, but it defently holds its own!! really i think the most important thing with any setup is to get the tune as close to perfect as possible.. the tune will make or break a bike in my opinion!! i know alot of people that just really dont put time in the jetting and just because they have a cub/serval or whatever it may be they think they have something special. give Jeff at F.A.S.T. a call.. super great dude to talk to and work with!!

nice work man!! they came out really well!! im sure the mrs. is really happy with it!!

well just for a starting point id try somewhere between 280-310 on the mains and a 27.5 pilot 1-1/2 out on air srew.. if you said "250" were perfect before, i dont think much will change by just doing a rebuild with vito piston(i could be wrong, not real familuar with the vito pistens) but since you are running a different box and filter setup id start a little high on the mains and adjust accordingly to the plug chop readings! good luck!!

i think jetting should be fairly close.. pull carbs off and check float heights..

if its to loose and your all out of adjustment with the carrier why cant you take another link out??

honestly that really is not that impressive!! i can do wheelies all day long!! one day at band camp i had my buddy radar me when i did a wheel stand and i was going 143mph and to be quite honest i had 2 more gears left.. if the road was longer i could of hit 211mph on the back tires!! but i been riding for about 3 months so im pretty good!!

more air = more fuel!!

How would you run your airbox?
special06shee replied to Tdaz250's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i am the same way.. worried as a mofo about ingesting debree in my motor.. i ride in northeast pa in the coal region!! very very very dirty!! i used to run an air box with no lid, pro flow adaperter and a k&n filter with outerwears. the only time i ever had a problem was because of my own dumb fault..did not have the filter sealed to the adaper 100%!! other then that, never any issues!! but since i did a motor overhaul and bigger carbs i moved to k&n pods with outerwear! im just a little more careful with creek crossings and mud holes that cant be avoided!! i could never understand what the big deal was about pods until i tried them...wow big time more power.. especially on a modded motor with bigger carbs.. also pods free up tons of space making tuning and working on the quad alot easier!! but imo if your just running a stock shee with pipes and maybe other small bolt ons you will be good to go with the stock airbox with NO LID!! the biggest thing to be sure with any appplication you choose is to make sure all of your intake connections are properly sealed!!!! -
Im very suprised there are site sponsors here!

wow i loved reading all of this!! i love all of the internet though guy talk!! lets keep this going!!!!!! really great stuff!! -
check your carb slides.. you might have them in backwards or mixed up.. the side of the slide with the higher radius goes toward the filter side!!

the dual feed pingel delivers double the fuel.. as far as if it is needed, only you know.. if the bike is not starving for fuel on the big end then is pretty safe to say that the stocker is good enough! i have a 4mil dune/play port with boost ports and pwk35s. the stock pingel was more then sufficent, but i still went with the dual pingel for piece of mind, looks, and to eliminate the "t". just keep in mind that if you due decide to go with the dual feed you will have to do some trimming on the tank once you get the stock pingel out.. no big deal just have to remove the bridge that seperates the reserve line and the normal pickup..

trial tranny?? a stock good working trans is a good "trail tranny". if you are having a problem with 2nd, break the bottom end down and make sure everything is straight and in good working order, shift shaft, shift forks, gears, ect and esscentric screw is in proper adjustment.. if all is good put an upgaded shift star on and you should be go to go for a "trail tranny".. most likly if you have an older shee there is something bent or broke.. good luck!

what the hell does this plug chop mean?
special06shee replied to bluebanshee98's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
put some good heat in the motor then drop a set of new plugs in and do it again!!1-6 wot then kill it! see what you got. i would not touch the mains untill you figure out if there is a problem.. besides to me i think the clutch side plug looks pretty good with the mains you have in!! -
wow guns.. your giving someone a free "pass".. you must be getting soft in your old age!! it is a sweet bike

pwk air stryker vs normal carb
special06shee replied to fuller1986's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i have seen some of the bigger cc 4x4 hang or even beat stock/modded shee!! but it not because they are faster..just that they get the jump off the line by a mile due to wheel spin!! its still very embarassing when a big 4x4 is in front of you, even if its only for a little, while all your buddies are there watching!!haha -
holy fuck i never noticed how old this was. im an dumbass for even replying to it!! hahah

im pretty sure when he said "longest" he meant a broad powerband!! ive been riding for a long time, mostly trails and hills... and for that type of riding you want a pipe that has the "longest" or broad powerband!! i never had pro circuts or fmfs but know people who due and they love them both.. i run t5s as of now and i like them, but i think ill be going to some shearers to complement my new little 4 mil!
