Id pull carbs/intake and check reeds. Might have a broken/bad reed which would make bike act real lazy. V3 are notorious for fraying on the corners or the pedals.

Keno basically gave you the run down... but something so easy that is over looked is rims and tires. So often i see people spend all kinds of money on motor builds and yet they choose the run the heaviest rim a tire combo. Rotating mass is HUGE. Invest in a decent rim and tire.

Oh. Well then.... sand will load your bike very hard and put a lot of strain on clutch. My 421 i was referring to were hill climb bikes and i never got out of 3rd gear. Dune riding your usually in higher gears making it harder on clutch. Like i said before, I personally would get a clutch kit from redline and try that. If it dont hold, you can always add lockup/cover. If you were only riding only dirt id say you could have 400 hp and not run a lockup.

You dont need a lockup. Get a new decent clutch kit and some heavier springs. I had 421 cubs with stock clutch setup that made in the low to mid 90 hp range. Call cameron up and get his clutch kit. Ive had good luck with them.

Ive had 10x the fun on mopeds and fiddys. Fuck quads.

With pods id play it safe and run a 300 and tune from there. As far as the pilot, 27.5. A 25 will be lean. Will it run, yes, but it will run lean.

The tommey needle is a MUST with stock carbs if ya ask me. They are longer and have more of a taper to them over stock needles. They perform much smoother in transitions from the 1/4 - 3/4 throttle positions imo. I recommend them with any setup thats using stock carbs.
