  1. you got a tool to work on the transfers or you just gonna leave them alone ? whats your plan for where the cylinder height will be ?
  2. i dont see a problem with new guys using templates. gives them a chance to practice without totally screwing up something. but the problem is the template was probly intended for stock stroke and bore. with the added stroke its gonna throw a curve ball in the situation. if you dont have the knowledge to sort it out i would get some help before you start cutting
  3. i never tried them templates but most likely they were designed to sit at the top cylinder deck and scribe your lines. but since your stroke is longer you cant simply put the template at the top deck. maybe they make a template for the added stroke. other wise your on your own with the degree wheel. maybe you could mark some timing heights from the wheel then use the template for the window shape
  4. ktm 300 is a sweet engine. been around for over 20yrs. billion aftermarket parts. it does well in a 215lb bike but in a 300lb qaud it might struggle
  5. drill press sure did a fine job. cant wait to get it out to the mountain and show finch whats up hahahhahha
  6. tricked carbine ported mine. charged me 1 bottle of old crow whiskey. dam good job i think. here have a look
  7. does he need a certain compression ratio or just as long as the gauge says 170+ then hes good to go ? not than any of you guys would know the answer but just wonderin
  8. never heard of tom miller. but i know miller lite pretty well
  9. from photobucket i think its the IMG code you copy and paste to here, perhaps in the image tab or maybe just directly to the post. mine freezes up when i click on the image tab but yours might work. somethin wrong with the site maybe its difficult to guess exact timings from a pic but certainly you can tell other things. example if theres a big radius on the exh window roof then you know the engine wouldnt be intended for max power. theres plenty of other stuff you can tell also
  10. see the paperclip is even camatv approved ! now what bitches
  11. for hell sakes. you just need something to bend into the port chanell. doesnt matter much what it is, hell some solder could probly work. look around the garage and see if you have something that can bend and hold its shape. some of you guys really over complicate shit. then most any protractor type of imstrument will suffice for measuring the angle
  12. pretty sure its something wrong with the site. quote wouldnt work. couldnt post links either. but anyways i just use a paperclip against cylinder wall and bend into the port then measure the angle with a protractor thing from the hardware store.
  13. theres a real easy way to measure the angles. its not letting me post images or links. not sure if its on my end or what. ill try back later and see if it works
  14. steel sleeves r gay. nikisil is the way brotha. even if you fry the piston a few times it aint gonna hurt the bore
  15. just a tip. measure the gap yourself also. never trust anyone. all the wisecos ive seen were on the large end of the spectrum which is fine with me because if the gap ever closes its game over
  16. plenty of automobiles well after 1980 were also using motor oil and gear oil in manual trannys. everyone has a preference that they think is better than everyone else but i think we can safely say atv trans will do just fine on most any type of fluid. energy conserving supposedly doesnt do well with the clutch plates but i have no direct experience with that . but i do have direct experience with EP gear oils and fiber clutch plates. aparently it causes isseues with the plates or so i was told but ive since proven that to be nonsense
  17. they claim something like 8hp more than brand x pipe. brand x is probly fmf http://cpiracing.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=63&product_id=50
  18. fine you wanna see what i can do. dont let me hear of ya copying it
  19. i bet a 80 would run damn good if a guy wanted to spend the time figuring it out
  20. 50/125=.4 im not real familiar on the 250. i think they might of been 125 twin with cylinders 90* apart radially. seperate crankshafts coupled with gears. that seems to make more sense than a 250 single
  21. around 50horse. wish i knew more about the ktm but theyre real secretive about them bikes. heard it had carb and fuel injector some how working together
  22. it wasnt a reference to any specific one engine. pretty sure honda and ktm also have engines close to .4 . infact i know ktm does and hondas version would be right there pretty close
  23. like the 360 trans port cylinder. nobody had clue how it worked and i got a bunch of flak over it. some genious even said it was like a old diesel hahahha. but anyways thats why i never post stuff
