  1. if the radiator gets hot then you can be sure the water pump is working fine. not sure what is considered normal vibration for these engines as ive only rode one banshee. mine vibrates as well. probly more than normal but its hard to say. noticed a few thousands play in the left side outboard bearing. as the engine revs higher it does smooth out though. still the crank is 10yrs old so its probly seen better days. and who knows how little oil the previous owner used in the gas
  2. the 42 collar is just that. a collar for the chain roller to spin on. they make alot of noise as i found out. kept hearing a weird sound i wasnt used to but its just that roller spinning and chain going over it. sounds like your problem is in the back at the carrier and adjustments area
  3. im new to these banshees but how hard can it be to keep the engine in 1 piece ?
  4. i tried to contact the GP place but they never answered or called back. guess he dont want any business. oh well. bought a direct drive instead. gonna use hinson 8plate with straight cuts
  5. hahahah he just replied. yep said theyre modqauds. clever little bugger jacking up the price $60
  6. well that ebay seller is avoiding the question. outright asked if them were modqaud covers hes trying to sell under a different name with much higher price and he wont respond
  7. them ebay gaskets are probly junk. never tried the vf gaskets but they might be good. i know for certain the yamaha gaskets are good. sealer wont always fix the problem because some cheap ass gaskets will leak through the center because the material is shit
  8. might be interested. did any of the threads in the cylinder get fuked up when you pulled the studs out ? not to pry in your business but why did you pull them out in the first place ? almost forgot to ask but theyre original sleeves and not resleeved ?
  9. im not sure on that. looks like a sweet cover though. im gonna wait and see what his response is but if it turns out to be a modqaud cover which im 99% sure it is, im just gonna buy from modqaud site as its like $60 cheaper. $340 + $40 for polish + probly $10-$15 for shipping. $390 or so total. dude from ebay told me $450 shipped.
  10. check it out and tell me this aint the same pic. dudes ebay add http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-EXTREMELY-GORGEOUS-ATV-CLUTCH-COVER-POLISHED-FITS-ALL-YEARS-/361078457670?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5411f40546 modqaud site. click on the one with clear cover http://www.modquad.com/clutch-covers-banshee-stock-replcmnt-works-with-slingshot-lockout.html pretty sure this dudes just selling modqaud shit and pumping the price to make some cash
  11. ya it looks nice. i emailed the dude because in one of the pics of the polished cover im pretty sure its the exact pic on the modqaud site so i asked if hes associated with modqaud but he hasnt replied back yet. he told me $450 shipped with no lockout for the polished cover. if it is a modqaud cover they only want $340 on their site. maybe its a different cover but its strange the pic looks identical. and it appears photochopped as well. why not show a pic of the actual product ? ill let you know what i find out because this ebay dude seems kind of fishy
  12. anybody know anything about this clutch cover ? appears very similar to modqaud but theres no mention of modqaud in the description. in one of his other cover auctions it appears he might even be using a modqaud image but he says its a protech brand. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PROTECH-BANSHEE-THE-MOST-BEAUTIFUL-SICK-ATV-CLUTCH-COVER-LOCKOUT-BLACK-ANODIZED-/131314151969?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e92eef221&vxp=mtr
  13. probly not brass. more like stainless steel i think. sounds like you got it handled
  14. let me guess. vice grips is the only tool you own and stripped it. get a $3 craftsman 8mm box/open end wrench while your picking up the new bleeder screw
  15. tighten the powerband a bit. 10mm screw on the side of the cylinder. 3 of 4 turns counterclockwise should do it
  16. you can make a argument for both sides of the fence. finding a bike loaded with goodies, at a great price, that was built up by someone that has a clue , doesnt happen every day. i looked at alot of them before i got mine and ya 99% of them had some bling parts but i noticed on alot of them the bling was just to polish a turd
  17. i think ill just go with modqaud since its basically same price as the direct drive cast unit. if by chance it wont work with 8plate hinson basket and direct drive lockout ill modify the cover or send the damn thing back and get a different cover
  18. bone stock banshees are pretty rare from my experience. before i bought mine i bet i seen 100 and maybe 2 of them were stock. i bought stock one mainly because i didnt to find a bunch of fuked up shit in the engine from the previous owner taking it apart and not having a clue how to put shit back together
  19. $600 mattoon billet cover is out of the question. their other cover appears to be just a modified oem cover direct drive cover is a cast unit with some reinforced areas from what i understand. this wouldnt be a bad choice. problem is its nearly the same money as the billet modqaud cover. thats why i was asking about modqaud. never bought any of their stuff so i didnt know what the qaulity is like or if the direct drive lockup will fit in there with 8plate clutch
  20. ya i seen the chariot pancake bearing unit earlier today. ill probly just get that one. has 2 different bolts and appears allitle more stout than some the other pancake units 1 lb extra weight meens little to me as i race only for fun
  21. i think its your nuetral position on that star looks like someone grinded it flat or something. if thats the case it might not stay in nuetral
  22. trying to sort this out before i order more parts. im thinking of a modqaud clutch cover with hinson 8plate springed basket and direct drive/mattoon style lockup. i called modqaud to see if ill have any clearance problems or if everything will fit together fine but the dude didnt sound to sure of himself. just said that it should work. anybody using this same setup that can confirm if these parts fit together fine or if something has to be modified ? also theres quit a few places selling the pancake bearing setup. do i need a certain one or will they all work fine with the 8plate clutch ?
  23. prolly some hobos. heard theyre everywhere in oregon
  24. did trick ever get that twin cr500 going ? last i heard it was still just a photo choped picture
