  1. seems like i bought small item from minkia and what showed up wasnt whats in the photo. seen some of his ebay junk just today and it said you will get the picture item. probly had alot of complaints about swapping parts
  2. cheapest ive ever seen a new spring hinson set up is abour $600. redline gears and chariot basket is $470. either way you go youll have a nice setup.
  3. oh I thought you was talking about the nut in the pressure plate that adjusts the clutch
  4. if u want to know a secret you can run a oem cr500 pancake bearing and washers and its 100x better than the cheesy ones that are supplied with the banshee pancake kits
  5. imo the eccentric deal was a poor idea on yamahas part. they should of just used a pancake setup like Honda did. nothing to loosen or falloff
  6. the spring system should last far longer for sure but it also cost $100 more. guess it depends how much you want to spend
  7. how can you still claim you bought that shit from mull when clearly it is not a mull impeller. quit being a fukin crook and liar. you should get banned for this nonsense
  8. hinson spring straighcut setup is nice but if you want to run straight cuts at about $100 less I would pickup straightcuts from redline and install em on one of those new chariot baskets
  9. I think its irrelevant what they were designed for as the banshee is based on 35yo ideas. most likely it wasn't designed to go much above 9k or so, atleast that's what the engineers probly had in mind at the time. that's not far off from what a modern stock 250 is designed for. it might be closer to the low 8000 but still not far off the point to my previous statement was only to say that the piston speeds generated at 10k by a 68mm stroke are still below the mechanical limits of the crankshaft assembly, atleast for short to medium periods, assuming you have good parts. whether or not your particular engine will have the ability to run up that high or sustain those engine speeds for miles and miles is hard to say. if you have experience with other Yamaha twins like you say, then you should have no trouble sorting it all out
  10. sleeving is fairly cheap as theres a guy up north that machines them on a lathe to any application then etches and cuts the windows to where you want but im not seeing the reason to use a sleeve. if one the crank works billet +10 would fit in stock cases then just use either a 66 or 68 cylinder from driveline or cpi. blam youll be pretty close to the 500cc mark and no added weight and expense of billet cases. then again I don't know if the crankworks +10 fit in stock cases square is regarded as the best compromise but going slightly over wont have significant consequences. testing and papers have all been written on this. of course this applies to engines with logical thinking and design. banshee roots go back some 35+ years ago so it doesn't exactly fall into the logical thinking and design category so maybe the larger over square doesn't have the same affects as it would on another engine. hell I don't know. still on these old engines it doesn't make sense to me going hugely over square as conventional wisdom says it shouldn't run as well
  11. but he bought it from mull hahah. it sure looks like the fins connect to the shaft in the center which isn't consistent with the mulls ive seen.
  12. 250 singles go to 10k and even a bit further without trouble. their stroke is longer and thus higher piston speeds than a +14 banshee. so mechanically speaking, a +14 banshee shouldn't have much trouble at 10k if quality parts were used but thats probly about the limit where it would run out of breath and whether or not it would go a couple miles is hard to say
  13. with the bearing in the way its hard to say for sure but from what i can see it doesnt appear to be a mull
  14. they always say budget is no concearn. by end of the first page they only have $500 to thier name
  15. and spin it over by hand the first time to be sure nothing hits or youll fuk up the trigger
  16. top number is american bottom is mm. double check after you tighten the screw becuase sometimes the gap closes up.
  17. i like mine less than .020 but you should be fine at .020. find a piece of paper around that size and put in there for the gap. tab from spark plug box usually works fine
  18. .20 at the very most. with good crank bearings you can run it down even closer
  19. jerry i wanted to ask if these baskets will work fine with 8plates if the 8plate hinson inner hub and pressure plate is used ? and your using m8 backing bolts ?
  20. any feedback on these baskets since theyve been around for a few months nows ? looking to pickup something new
  21. inframes are usually secured to the frame alot better for jumping and shit like that. plus if you tip over oof will probly get smashed to hell. plus you might need mufflers ?
  22. are these specials only good for a couple more days ?
