  1. In one of the pics it shows the piston cooling jet. See if its plugged. In the large diesels they run those and when you see four point scoring its from a overheated piston caused by a plugged jet. The brass probably plugged it up. Not being a four stroke guy did there used to be washers on the crack for the rod??or have you figured out where it came from?
  2. As much as i hate this answer, call your builder. From what ive seen fastline is like a pvl. These are set at a distance before tdc in mm. You should use a indicator like the one from jj&a. Also you wont be at 7 deg. The ign curve is different than stock and most likely will require a different initial adv setting to be were you need to be in the rest of the curve. Also your stroke and rod will affect timing setting as piston speeds near tdc can change. You have 3choices, search more info on this subject(its out there as i searched this out for a pvl last year),call your builder,or stick with stock and run 7deg because everyone else says to.
  3. I forgot that new parts are better because they cost more and never break. Give me a break. Nothing wrong with saving some cash on perfectly good rebuildable used stuff
  4. Thanks matt. Matton cases with window for sure. How hard does your bike start? I didnt even think you could kick these. I asumed it would be remote start only. And i was thinking get 2out the right pipes and 1left build custom mounts for the left one. What did the ign set you back from twister??
  5. Thanks for the input. When i was refering to stock transmission i meant stock parts but fully modified.this is not my first build. I have a 14mil cub,a16mil cheetah, and now this20 mil dm triple.any one else with hands on experience feel free to point out some other problems i might run into
  6. N20- what other hurdles??dont need complete detail but mabe you could point out some issues you know about.i am aware of chassis issues, trans issues, clutch issues my 8 plate clutch probably wont hold up. The motor is a 20mil dm
  7. Thanks for your helpfull sugestions. At least one person attempted to help. I think i'll stay away from the h2. Im worried parts might be getting hard to come by. The snomo stuff im looking at is late 90's. Its to bad that the rest of you (who by the way i have read past contributions andunderstand how knowledgable you guys are) are so quick to bash. All i was asking was for some basic suggestions
  8. Starting to build my first triple cylinder banshee and have some questions. How long would you expect a stock cut trans to last in a hill chassis?1pass or maybe a full weekend?i would think if you let the tire spin on the start it might last. Also what flywheel is used?i has to be some sort of snomobile type ignition. Any help is appreciated. I really dont want to have to go to a builder for somethin i can make myself.
