What reeds come on a 7mil dm cylinder 250r or cr 500?. I would think they probably have the smaller 250reeds which would be the same as the cheetah. You could run larger exh flanges so thats a plus. Also i would think the dm would produce slightly more power due to newer design and larger bore. Also since the stroke is shorter it would rev higher safely.what cc is a 4mill dmx? The reason i brought that up is because you would be nuts to spend the money for a dm and not rebuild your crank before assembly. With that said you might be better off to sell complete and build new. I would think a 4 dmx would be even better
If its for real they staggered the front tires to cheat the beams for lower et. As it gives the illusion of a large tire. I would stay away from it. Even if you started running good times with it people would bash you for cheating.
If it was an assembly issue wouldve shown up within first hour. The real question is who requested the crank and rod combo. If you requested it than good luck getting help on this. On a drag race engine how many passes is 13 hours? 700-750?. A lot of damage can happen in 1.
Tearing your bike down, fabbing good looking mounts, welding them on,painting or re powdercoating frame, then reassembly is easier than a handlebar mount. You sir are confused.
You cant hide a cheetah. Sure you could have anything from 535 down to i think a 350-370? If i was racing you i would assume the largest possible size. With a stock cylinder it will cost a bunch of cash and youll need to track down mybe 5 builders that will get it to run well enough. Keep this in mind, you can go +10 stroke before anyone will know in stock cases. But on stock cyl youll need a spacer welded and new sleeve installed. Probably 470ish on cc. Take a cub and you can go to 460 ish? With a to mill. Or 520ish with the super cub. The super and reg cub look the same on the outside. Why wouldnt you build a 10 super if your trying to hide cc
Are you going to street race or track. If your trying to hide motor cc then dm cylinders will give some of that away. Maybe a 7mm super cub? If you track racing build to class size. Pick a cc to run then ask for combos in that size.
The stud in the upper pic needs to bottom in the hole to work like a stud. The lower one tightens til the bulge hits then worms like a stud. You should have all like the lower one pictured
I have a? regaurding lock up arm clearance to the plate. What effect does this have on the clutch tune? Do you just shoot for a certain arm angle when applied for max pressure applied. I think the way to adjust it would only be by changing stack height but i might be wrong. I fully understand changing height will change base pressure.this is refering to a standard direct drive style.
Higher than normal cranking speed will raise compression readings. But you guys are right about trying to kick over a loose engine good luck. Time to drag the spare frame into the garage. Thanks for the input.
Search for 9376k217. I use those in rubber between the peg and the mount. That way it dampens some of the vibration and hopefully the rubber shears before the mount breaks. 1 minute to replace and your back in action. I used 1/8 aluminum flat stock with the rubber insulator as the spacer. Just figure out what width you need and order that. Hope that helps. Remember to make spares while you doing it.
Heres a really dumb question but lets say you wanted to perform a comp test with an engine on the bench. Do you need to have the carbs installed or just the reeds and intake? What about the exh? Would the reading be lower?
Buy extra when you do and build a spare mount as they always seem to break at the wrong time. If your running same side pipes you need a pretty beefy mount. Also check mcmaster carr for rubber mounting studs. This will help take some stress out and hopefully will keep it together. I have personally given up on same side for a hillshooter do to mounts always breaking. Your sure the pipes are correct for the flanges as they make like 4 diff sizes?
