Not overly concerned on weight. I understand the reasons for it but to be honest i just do this for fun.Maybe someday i will scrap all my heavyweights and do a lightweight bike. But since im a no jocky mafia type and like to drink beer i dont see this happening soon. Thanks for the offer look forward to seeing the unicorn in october.
Still gotta finish building the fuel tank but thought i would hear it run today. No luck. Think someone lied to me when i bought the "kit" a few years ago.
Not a total wasted day. 1 piece stem wouldnt work like i had thought so a 2 piece was in order. Hope to have this running for haloween smnv.
Clint has a waiting list a couple months long. If i remember correctly i was quoted 2500 or so to replicate jt frame and have clint build front suspension. If youve never owned a drag bike i would use jmads 4mil as your gonna burn it down learning to tune. Learn to make small motors quick first. It cheaper and easier to source parts. I would invest in a lighter chassis with the money saved on the motor. Then when your ready to upgrade you already have light stuff.
You were going to text me those pics? You had to of read the pm to get my # since you texted me saying you would get pictures when you got home. I think it was tuesday?
Stock bare frame only, 46lbs
Lightened stock around 32lbs
Lsr stock geo removable subframe 31lbs.
The lsr would most likley have more bracing at the same weight and a welded sub would be a little lighter i would think.
With all this material discussion i have to ask if anyone has a link to literature or formulas for figuring out what size/type material to use? I would love to learn about how to spec a material based on load but my hs education seems lacking.
If someone wants to share would 7/8od chromo .048 wall work for the main frame for tt? Or would it require to much bracing not to twist up after 1 heat?
