Who can stroke a crank in house besides crankworks. i'm talking old school pre hotrods crank. take a stock web and actually machine out the old rod pin and bore for a new one. had a 7mil built years ago from a stocker but dont think that shop really did the work. im sure now its no longer cost effective. just wondering who still does it.
  2. Needs button head allens and option of raw,polished,or anodized. looks good though.
  3. Thought dm are all 77-78bore. also transfer tunnel layout is different to help accomodate bore size. also wouldnt be concerned about bore size on a cub cylinder.64-68 no difference. You builder will do fine with either. also thought you wanted to build another bike meaning 2total. dont reuse what you have. I have a 14 cub that runs good. i think i would do a short stroke big bore when i do it again. like a 4 dmx maybe
  4. What about a matoon 10 plate. pretty sure the inner hub and pressure plate are streetbike based. Green should be able to confirm or deny that. not saying you need 10 plate just thinking a slipper might go to that inner hub.

In my personal experience big engines run hot and for longevity you need to watch the rpm range your building for as piston speeds exceed safe limits real quick on big strokes.they can spin faster but pistons wear fast. you wont be able to bolt one together but with enough money one can be built. then your back to the fact that its non ridable. But hey what the fuck do i know?

  7. I think they are still available. check racetechs site. they even sell tools for rebuild.

You will fuck up your first one i promise you. the hole is to remove a snap ring that is a pia to get out. if i had to do it again i think i would take the top mount portion off the body, remove the piston nut,and remove the shaft. i think it would give more room to remove the dust cap and seal head. be prepared to make a big mess as well.
  9. How much pukes out? all of it? about 1"? no overflow bottle right? when you say stock you mean stock pipes,carbs,filter with airbox lid and snorkel? how do your plugs look?
  10. would some sort of basket driven lockup work? like a hayes with like 3 light pressure plate springs and enough weight to lock it fully?

  15. Question about arms. In you experience are the arms all the same from pivot to weight location. or is the distance different from a hayes to a mtc to a mattoon or direct drive? was just curious.also noticed you had a pic of a pressure plate that had been machined. whats up with that?
  16. i second this.you couldnt even ride a 150hp bike and have fun on fire roads let alone a scimitar or caracal (rough guess 185-200hp?)when you said you could afford one i bet you have no idea what it costs to build,run,and maintain a big motor. You better stick to your fully built 421

  22. i think you can get creative with pistons and not be tied to trinity. it is not for the bolt on crowd though. but its part of setting it up right. flat top pistons ftw.

If you make more power your gonna spin out more on your takeoff. what was 1 bike length now will be 2-3 you have to make up. buy some good haulers 9 or 10 paddle 21-11-8 reg buff but a 14-15 front on depending on your weight and be done. Those tires you have cant get the power to the ground. thats why your losing from the start. you should pull them from start to finish.
